These florals are exceptional. Really enjoyed your creating these lovely arrangements. You are sooo informative as you do each flower! I am just getting started making floral arrangements.. You are such a through designer/instructional explaining each step. I have really enjoyed this entire video. I will keep looking for your videos. Oh yeah you are constantly keeping the customer in mind as you go. Exceptional video. Thanks, Eddie
I watched your video and you are so informative. I wanted to make my first standing spray, but was feeling a bit intimidated. After watching your video a little of the pressure had lifted and my spray came out beautifully!!! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. ❤
You are so welcome! I do see some for sale at floral supply outlets that sell direct to consumer and one on Amazon, but it’s $60… not worth it. If you make a relationship with a local Flower shop, sometimes they’ll sell them to you.
I’m happy to share my pricing strategy, and there are some industry standards, but there will always be a need to price based upon your own costs. The breakdown usually needs to be 25-30% Cost of raw goods, 25% labor, 40-45% for overhead (rent, utilities, insurance, education, etc) leaving hopefully 5-10% for profit to reinvest in the business. ❤️ I can make a more in depth video talking about it for sure.
@@TheFlowerRoom thank you so much. Im a newbie in the floral design realm. took a few design classes and sometimes I’m like, “there’s no way anyone’s gonna pay for this!!”
We all have to stick together. We deserve to make enough money to be able to live. The one thing we have to make sure not to do is undercut each other. What happens when you undercut or you are undercut by someone else, is that it gives the customer the idea that the person charging the higher price is ripping them off. That is no good for the customer because the florist they are buying from likely won’t be around the next time they need them. It’s not good for the undercutting florist because they can’t pay bills and now their customers expect to not have to pay more. It’s not good for the florist who gets undercut because they have clients who think they are getting charged too much. No one wins unless we all charge enough to be able to live off more than instant ramen. I believe in you! You can do this.
I understand where you’re coming from. You have to charge enough so that you can afford to buy groceries, etc. a lot of florists get caught up in this kind of thing. You are not alone. Stand firm and offer a choice in the price point they want to pay, but let them know that easel sprays start at … whatever you need them to. I’d say my average for an easel spray is $225. I usually tell people that if they want to spend less than $150, that they will likely be happier with the presentation they get from a traditional “urn arrangement” or whatever you want to call it. Every area has its own names for things. I’ll say something like “If your budget is $100, I can design a beautiful arrangement in an urn container using basic flowers in whatever color scheme your prefer. Designs on easels start at $150 for a basic design and are more commonly designed using more premium flowers between $200-$350.” It takes some practice to get the wording down. You can do it! I’ll make a video about my pricing and how to talk to customers about it.
I think it's a good reminder that employees can ruin an arrangement or the equipment and the end product may not be up to the customers or the florist's standards. She didn't name the employee, just that the employee damaged the stand.

How do you prevent water coming out of oasis onto the floor?
Beautiful!!!!! Do you happen to have any pricing videos? Like what would one pay for something like this? And how to build a recipe?

How do you water the heart I watched the whole thing and you didn’t do the water… Can you please let us know?
Gates of heavan flower
How many flowers ? It would help to talk about that
Do you recommend reusing the foam?
I have trouble with pricing as well. People in my area dont like to pay over 75 or 100 for a stand of any kind.

I didn't appreciate you talking about your employee, that he broke your easel .

What size is the open heart that you used?
I usually use an 18”, but some orders require 24

beautiful heart but too many flowers it actually took away from the shape. It looks crowded.
Can you talk about in a different video finding a good supplier when you are a florist in a rural area?
You are blocking the insertion
Do you mean that I'm obstructing the view of the insertions on video with my body?
i'm looking at the quality of work and I can see that you're choosing flowers and fillers very well as far as color and freshness however what I am noticing about your work is that you're very top-heavy you favor the right side and the top and not so much the left or the bottom
This makes the piece less stunning as it could be
I know you have a very fixed feeling about the bottom not being important but it should be balanced with the top in the amount of flowers fillers and Balance of the type of flowers that you're putting where you put the lilies at the top and then the midsection some towards the bottom
That shows a lack of quality in your work because it might be important to you but I'm sure the families are going to notice and they're probably going to wonder why that
Most people are going to deduce that it is an effort to save money
What you charge for spray I have no idea
What you pay for your aperture I have no idea
I'm sure it depends on where you're shopping and of course you should be able to get wholesale
So that will save you some money
But I find that people in business way too much money as opposed to creative aspects
If you do a good job and you're consistent and balanced in
You will be financially rewarded for that because word of mouth travels
And the last thing someone wants to be disappointed
Particularly when it's their loved one they're off and that is one of the most work you will ever do
Beautiful
