Thanks for the trip through the Petrified Forest! I first went there as a kid back in 1965, when the family was moving to California. A family of seven, packed into the pre-A/C Oldsmobile, driving across the dessert in August… Lordy- my parents had very patient souls! All these many years later, I have wanted to go back- your virtual has bumped it up a notch or two on my bucket list.
The Petrified Forest & Winslow were completely impulsive detours, lol. Each was one of those, “Hey! Look over there!” and then jerk the wheel onto the off ramp, hahahaha! Fun times and even better memories!
