Yeah but it's not like it's them specifically. My impression is that he could've requested that of anyone with a media pass, because approving (or maybe only coordinating media) was his job. So requesting them specifically was a bit of an ask. Not a huge one, but definitely an ask.

The second best badge is the ones with the blue wheelchair sticker. You just need to wait 30 minutes before any panel and you never have to wait outside. You should only use it if you really have disability and not fake it because that is beyond wrong. That sticker helps me because I can't get around the convention easy in my wheelchair so it's a life saver.

I love how 5 minutes of brainstorming from non interviewers yielded better questions than most professional interviews I've seen.
ngl i usually volunteer for conventions, which offer the volunteer badge. it's like the media badge, but you're able to go backstage and help out in the cons! this is also pretty good for schools/resumes as this is technically counted as "volunteering" ofc. i've also met official voice actors and have some signatures (without paying for them)!
honestly volunteering isn't bad, it's pretty fun and there's tons of "jobs" to do & you'll pretty much just vibe with your co-volunteers and conventioners most of the time :)

Legit I took a class in collage (last semester) where every week we were interviewing a new poet. We usually had about a week to prepare but I am certain most of us, myself included, were coming up with our questions right before class or during class. But it was pretty fun. We learned a lot from the people we were interviewing. But basically, ya'll in the interview reminded me of that class.

When I went to a convention with my friend his mom had to drive us there and sorta monitor us (this was a few years ago) and his mom is a journalist so we got to go to every booth we wanted because we were in her group so we technically had media passes. Damn that was a good year

I think Domics' character is going thru a midlife crisis.
I've found a vendor/DM badge is incredibly useful as well. I help out a cousin who does stuff with tabletop gaming at some conventions and also has a webcomic. It can be pretty great since you get early access to gaming areas or artists alley. I also have gotten access to big dealer's halls because of his partnerships with other creators and sellers. I DO usually work in some way during these conventions but sometimes it's as little as watching the booth for 30 minutes while he gets food. I have also seen the inner workings of many conventions at this point.
