I doubt any of Bristol’s The Longest Johns ever imagined they would be able to get so far on just four voices. Born out of a mutual love of traditional folk songs and shanties, they rock maritime songs alongside the more unusual and less traditional folk tunes. In a few short years they have gone from singing sea shanties in a kitchen to International folk festivals, tours, TV appearances and gained a huge online following. As the face of the 2021 sea shanty revival with their track Wellerman, the Johns are reaching millions of new fans all across the globe and showing them just how great these songs can be.

Can't believe it's been two years. This was the first "thing" I was able to go out and do since the start of the pandemic. It was such a weird coincidence that the show was even able to happen here. Lo and behold, now the Johns are on a world tour playing with a full backup band. I like the new stuff too, but this was a special moment in time. I hope they look back on it as a highlight.
The best thing for me was sharing the music (By singing along with you) with my 30 yr old rapper grandson
JD's right leg is going to be jacked by the end of this tour!
I said the very same thing to him this morning😁
But worthwhile - the drum adds so much. Stay strong, JD!!
Yes! 🤣🤣
I know a lad called John Long, but these guys are much Longer and waaayyy Johnnier. 😉

What a wonderful surprise to find we could watch your first concert in America, & what a great one. Keep safe & well boys & bring more smiles & laughter like this. The world needs it badly.
Aww, I missed it, and the lovely chat as well ... adequate, as always!

Very nice work on Wayfaring Stranger boys!
tysm for putting this online! i'm immune compromised and can't really go to live events anymore, 💚💚💚
What wholesome chat and comments, love the atmosphere in this otherwise cursed website
What a wonderfully wholesome venue
It's great to see your American audience totally "get" you. I love the way your concert is just like your Lockdown (and beyond) sessions, which saw me through total Shielding (which came at a personally very trying time, keeping me from my dear brother for a very crucial year).
Keep putting smiles on people's faces just by sharing your enjoyment in what you do.
What a very Adequate show
Thank you so much for posting this! It's as close to being at a live concert as I'll get. Many hearts!!!!
Just repeating what has already been said, but what a wonderful surprise. Thank you, the Longest of Jonathans, for what was a wonderful treat.
P.S. have you heard of HebCelt? It's a great wee festival in Stornoway Scotland. You'd love it there 😉
For the suggestion of a great to perform this comment should get all the likes!

Watching from N.Z and enjoying every minute of the concert
Wish I could have seen them while they were in the States, but it's a very long drive to NY from AZ.

Really amazing show! Thank you so much for streaming and posting the recording :)
Love it, but wish you guys were playing at the Ark in Ann Arbor, where I saw Stan many times.
You’d be great at the Ark and I could get there. It’s an iconic place, everyone has played there.

Where do I find their version of fish in the sea
They released an EP called "C-Sides" that includes the song.
All go on stage with a "Red Solo Cup" - They aught to play that, if Toby Keith allows it, that is... That would be fun... Just for the f*ck of it...
I expected some clapping and stomping
did you try the workers song? boomers wouldn't love that
I won an argument with my wife by blaring this when she berated me over somthing stupid.
