I miss Tony Gwynn. One of my favorite players when I was a kid. I'm a Red Sox fan but I think a lot of baseball fans across the country appreciated Tony Gwynn.

I’m so happy that Caratini was able to catch the No-No, I was sad when we traded him to SD but I’m glad he’s able to produce with them
He also made history hen he caught that. He caught back to back no-hitters League ide becoming the first catcher to do so.

Pitching was phenomenal but what's also impressive is they did it with 6 players.. only involved Myers, Kim, Cronenworth, Profar, Caratini, and Joe himself. Congrats from a Dodgers fan. This Padres team is really fun to watch, with or without Tatis.

I was there and I was definitely cheering. You don’t see a no-hitter in person everyday. It made it even better that the Rangers won the World Series two years later

I am a 42 year long fan of this team, a native San Diegan and watch this team get me through some hard times in my life. I choked up when I heard them announce "San Diegos Own". When a no hitter is in reach every player on the field feels that tension. The need to remain hyper focused, not wanting to be the one to make a mistake. A total team effort in order to get it done.

The Padres have had 23 near no-hit games in their history. I almost saw one in 2004 with Adam Eaton against the Royals. The hype started building around the 5th inning and they finally got a hit in the 7th. So happy for Joe and my SD Padres!

I listened to that game in 1969, in which Clay Kirby got pulled, my mom and dad passed on before they could experience glorious moment, thank God I lived long enough to finally see a Padres no-hitter. Hallelujah.

Great accomplishment! I was surprised, though, to see so many Padres fans who made the trip to Texas, especially this early in the season.
I mean it took 53 dam years but if you're gonna do it. Not much can beat this.... So stoked for my fellow Padre fans. So many close calls but then you think of those who are no longer with us that couldn't witness this.

No-hitters are exciting no matter if it's your team or another team. And Joe deserves the praise for his command as starting pitcher, and it's extra fun that he's a SD county boy. It's good to hear him give Vic his credit too... couldn't have been a no-hitter without the help of the rest of the defense along the way. No-hitters are just as much of team feats as they are pitcher feats. Well done, Padres. It's scary that he's not even their best pitcher, too... Yu, Snell, Clev (next year)... yikes.

I've never really been a padres fan because my grandfather was a cubbies fan and I'm from florida moved to michigan so sometimes I'd watch the tigers if verlander was pitching.. but after hearing "the first no hitter in franchise history and it belongs to one of San diegos own" I lost it emotionally.

That Padre pitched heavenly.
Padres make history again against the texans.. awesome pitching performance. I couldn't watch the game and I had a buddy say "I hate kim, he got caught stealing and bobbled the ball". And the next day I watched the highlights for the game that day when kim hit his home run and saw some comments commending his fielding.. so I watched this videos. He had what, like 5 of the 17 outs for the team, not to mention the last one, where everyone knows what's up and the pressure is on. I'd choose tatis over kim for the long run, but his stats before he got hurt says he would have committed an error this game. So I told my friend I actually think we were fortunate to have kim playing this day.
