  • The SGT5-4000F gas turbine has set off from Siemens Energy’s plant in Berlin. The element, weighing 300 tons, was transported by barge to Hamburg, from where it went by sea to Gdańsk, where it was again placed on a barge. Then along the Dead Vistula and the Vistula, the turbine set off for Grudziądz. Transportation by river took about two days at an average speed of 10 km/h.
At the site, the barge moored to a specially built wharf. From the barge, the turbine went to the Self Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) vehicle. It is a 10-axis, 80-wheel platform, controlled by a radio controller. The vehicle is powered by a power pack (diesel engine and hydraulic system). The cruise speed of the set is 5 km/h. Overnight, through the streets of Grudziądz, the turbine arrived at the construction site of Grudziądz CCGT power plant, where it is awaiting turbine set assembly.
