Sylas was such a great addition to the story of Demacia. Before his release everyone just saw Demacia as like the "good guys". It was shown off as such a perfect and well ordered kingdom. The story of Sylas showed us that the place actually has a dark side. Shunning all mages and throwing them in cells to rot, treating them like animals with no emotion. I can't wait for you to check out Pyke next. He's one of my favorite champions!
Thing is Demacia had that darker side long before Sylas was added, but I guess he did bring it to the masses.
Also be aware, that "Shunning all mages and throwing them in cells to rot, treating them like animals with no emotion" is a misconception. Being a mage in Demacia isn't "too bad" like it is pretty bad, but not THAT bad. I mean, there are still mages that choose to live in Demacia. Basically you have to report yourself to the mageseekers and refrain from using your magic like EVER. If you choose to use your magic you will be considered a crimal and be trown into prison.
And while the Demacian high society will look down on you when you are born with magical abillities, they will still treat you with some form of respect, cause they follow a strict creed of honor.
I do have many problems with how Sylas is implemented into the story tbh, but I am not gonna shit on people who like him.
I would recommend Aurelion Sol and Aatrox, especially Aurelion tho.

You're doing great man, these reactions are fantastic! You've taken a hefty challenge going through all the league champions and their content, keep it up!
Not to add a bunch on your plate already, I do at least recommend a series of six videos, all around 5 minutes or less, called Legends of Bilgewater. It's purely audio but it's very immersive. The sounds of being in a Bilgewater tavern talking with a local about the legends around Bilgewater, like Pyke or Nautilus. I think you'd like it a lot! It really gives you a sense of the culture they've created.
Yep bit of a challenge! Plus I want to make sure when I cover a champion to make sure I cover as much as possible...tbh even then I still have a few already that I will be doing a part two on Kindred for example.
It’s crazy how much amazing content league has, I reckon I have at least six months worth of conetent to go through based on my one a week....at least. I’ll add to my list be cool to mix it up every now and then...appreciate the positive feedback and recommendations!🙏
If you can, check out the Lux comics. It expands on the whole Demacia situation with... Uh... Magecism? Yeah let's call it that.
Also some of these characters have special interactions with other champions (check the channel SkinSpotlights for those eheh).
And better yet, some have canon interactions with other champions and characters on Legends of Runeterra (I think Skin Spotlights also has that covered, but not sure though)
Hey Bernardo...yeah the interactions did cross my mind but decided against adding to this video due to its length. If I get the chance I might come back and cover his comic(s) and interactions. Will be doing one at some point on Kindred.
The thing about Sylas, which also makes him more interesting, is that he isn't really a "good guy". He really is a ruthless murderer who destroys everyone who stands in his path, but his ideals are pretty much just. Demacia really is a xenophobic, holier-than-thou shithole, and one of the best thing that the inclusion of Sylas did was expanding on that.
Also, the "All we need to start a fire is a single spark" line is a fun nod to Lux's ultimate, Final Spark. He has some great interactions when taking ultimates from specific champions, but yeah, it wouldn't make much sense to watch that with no context.
I think I might have got a bit carried away when I said he was the good guy! Was just surprised to see what had happened to him and easy to empathise with some of his beliefs and goals...,maybe not all of them though. Did think about looking at his interactions too but though that would have made the video a bit too long.
Man, Riot just released a 10 minute cinematic about Yasuo and the new champion, Yone. They already revealed their skills, if you want to react to them too.

Sylas is one of the better written, deeper characters. He kind of makes big shit happen no matter where he goes.
Really nice one! I like the idea of choosing champions from the Runeterra map, but one thing i will caution against is champions that were released before 2015ish don’t have same quality champion spotlights and/or abilities. The in-game map was different back than and some of the champs have recieved small reworks to their abilities rendering those spotlights kind of obsolete. Not that they won’t do but not the same as todays standarts. Also the channel Skin Spotlights release special interactions videos for most of the champs that record the context to the voicelines as some are specific to some champion encounters or situations.
Dang I just realized that you only have 1.5k Subs, the way you present yourself and the effort you put into your work makes me believe that you should have moreee .

Check out the special interactions! The voicelines you watch are good but with no context on it you wouldn't know when and why that character said so. Like "This rebellion just has wings" is said when he stole Ultimate from Quinn - a character with Bird Ultimate.
Great video, and lovely choice for a next one. I like the idea of going trough different regions and keeping it fresh. An alternative idea is to also check all other stories related with Sylas to get a full view. Fun fact League is actually partnered with Marvel and they are also making comics. There is a comics called "Lux" mainly revolving around well Lux, Sylas and Garen. Buut.. the comics has like separated into 5 issues, which may take a lot of time to cover.. so maybe that's a content idea for another time :d

Nice format to choose the next champion, I like the idea. You can scroll on the map to actually zoom in to view villages cities and interest point
The idea kinda came from the comment you made previously about the Runeterra map! Though mid-video why not just choose from the map now! :)
Sylas is just a mass murderer. The basis of his cause are just, but he uses them in a twisted way to just take revenge. He's just a vengeful murderer killing anyone who stands in his way be it friend or foe. He's a dictatorial revolutioner, but you can only know that from his stories, it's true that the trailers give the impression of him being a hero (except for the last line of his trailer "burning it all to the ground").

Hey man, great vid. I suggest you should learn a bit more about the world of runeterra for some future champs. If you're planning on doing one of the darkin for example (Aatrox,Varus and Kayn/Rhast), then you should read about the Fall of Icathia and the Void. If you're planning on doing a Champ from Shurima, then you should know about the ascended. Or maybe the story of the rune wars and how the current regions came to be. These stories (sometimes) don't have a champion at their core, but instead just fill in the world. You should check out a channel called "Necrit", he summarises those stories quite well, though those videos probably won't make good reactions, sooo maybe watch them on youre own if you are interested (or just read them)
Fun Fact:Sylas is one of the champions that changed Runeterra overall(like Kayn, Kai'sa, Senna, Pyke, etc.) also Sylas finally answered the question: Why is Lux, a mage and a crownguard, able to use magic without getting caught. Not even her brother, Garen (LoL champ) does anything lorewise or rather, it was a mystery if Garen knew but the comics that Riot collabed with Marvel had answered that question too.
btw, you see Demacia was always so linear. It was a place where mages aren't allowed so when they are caught , they are imprisoned and tortured. This is why Sylas is so spiteful. Like they have a potion that when a mage drinks it, it causes them so much physical pain. Imagine drinking flames or lava everyday, mages are being tortured like that simply because they are born with magic which is against how Demacia was born/founded.
I plan to at some point cover these comics, be good to expand on this story between thew three Champions!

You know you can zoom on the Runterra map! Also, maybe its better to complete a region before going to the next one. Like not complete complete, but kinda get theri main conflicts done

@@TheReelSym Hopefully I'm not overhyping it, I doubt a lot of people have that same opinion. I just really like how it's simple and quick, but still effectively communicates its point. And Pykes voice actor has some great delivery.

Please use skin spotlights to do your interactions because it's the best and easiest way plus it shows the champion to champion interactions too which the current one doesn't have, which misses out alot of lore
Yep will do! The only reason i didn't add into this video was because i didn't want it to be too long! Think going forward i might look to replace the voice lines with interactions as they do provide a bit more context.
i know that this is super late but if u see this shackles are made out of petracite, and it is constantly causing him pain. its like ripping out his insides constantly, and its was made in such away that it cant be unlocked. Demacia is actually genociding the mages, kinda like Nazi germany. It started in the rune wars, when mages started using the world runes for war almost destroying the world, then people found a forest that seemed stop magic. So many people fleed there and over time the peoples fear for mages slowly turned into hate as many people who lived there who became mages started to abuse their powers. When he escaped he started a civil war between the mages and non mages in demacia. You should read the Lux comic, genreally with out spoilers its about Lux and Sylas' relatioship before he escapes

To be precise Demacia was created by refuges from what is called the Rune Wars when mages world over used shards of powerful artifacts knows as Wold Runes and wrought havoc across the world in their thirst for power ...
A group of refugees was fleeing from such power crazed mages and luckily for them arrived at a forest made out giant stone-like trees where the mages suddenly lost their power which gave the refugees the chance to get rid of their pursuers...
it was in this forest where the City of Demacia was founded by the refugees and also where the Demacian hatred for magic would be ingrained in to its very foundation because of all the destruction, death and suffering the mages brought during the Rune Wars,
The bark of the trees seemingly was able to nullify magic (In truth the material absorbed magic not nullified it) and the Demacian found a way to turn that bark into mortar called Petricide from which they would construct the walls and buildings of their city to protect it from magic... as you read in the story
As I said for the Demacians magic is a vile thing .... this was only reinforced through their history as their enemies would use magic to devastating effect against the kingdom, and even those who were considered as divine protectors of the kingdom the sisters Kyle and Morigana, ended in a conflict that caused widespread devastation ...
but just like even today people with power, influence or money are able to get away with things that normal people could not, which is even worse when you have nobles ...
So people who have magic, as long as they are part of an noble family and its not public knowledge, the are turned a blind eye to, while if there even a whisper of magic among commoners they are mercilessly hunted down ....
But to be fair that does not mean that its no issue for them you will see that with Lux actually.
the closest analog to the mage issue in Demacia in the real world would be how homosexuals were treated in the past (some places even today) they even have conversion therapies where they try to cure the mage of its affliction ....
Something you might have missed as it is not fully state that when he escaped he did not just break out he did so by committing mass murder ... you see Demacia is a feudal, middleage type society, in which executions are normally public spectacles which would gather crowds of onlookers .... so when it say he only let the young Crownguard girl alive, its telling you he killed everyone else, including just bystanders, this is actually shown in the Lux comics ...
You should react to the Lux comics its a good read and it gives a lot of insight into this.
There is a story with Sylas where a young mage joins his group, who does not want to kill, and Sylas manipulates him to kill a captured noble by threatening to abandon the youngster, because while Sylas talks about liberation, and about how there will be no peasants and king, he really does not care how many of those oppressed peasants must die for him to get his way...
He will kill not just the nobles but their servants from guard to coachman for only the crime of serving the noble ....
Or about his search for allies in the Freljord ... he gains them by promising them new paths that will allow them to pillage the Demacian countryside ... which would cause death primarily among the peasants and poor ..... for the sole reason to gain more power ...
I would argue that the world Sylas would create ironically is basically the same as the one that created Demacias hatred for magic ....

Even though what sylas is doing could be considered correct, i think he is doing it the wrong way. Being so ruthless to every demacian is just not correct in my opinion. He is trying to make demacia better with murder and personally i don't think that's going to solve anything. I know what demacia is doing with mages is not right but what sylas is doing isn't justified either

@@TheReelSym i do agree with that. And in the lux comic you can actually see that not all mages side with sylas. Some of them think that what he is doing isn't any better. But over all sylas pushed demacia's story forward by a mile and i think his lore is one of the best there is in runeterra

I would by NO means say Sylas is a good guy. He is a radicalized murderer who kills anyone who gets in his way. However Demacia can blame themselves for creating him. Here's the issue. Garen, Lux, Fiora and other Demacians are good people, but they serve a Kingdom that just like any other place, is a bit corrupted. Demacia even worships a character in League named Kayle, who is a bit of a bitch (You should totall do Kayle and Morgana's story). Demacia only started hating mages after mages almost caused the end of the world. To them, it's as simple as Europeans hating rats because of the Plague. You can't really look at it as black and white/One is good and one is bad. They're all just subjects of experiences and personal vendettas

Sylas is no good guy by any means. And he is a bit of a hypocrit also. Which makes him even more of a hypocrit when he calls others that.
Just as much as Demacia made him he makes Demacia what it is. The only reason why mages were thrown in jail was in fear of them destroying Demacia and being uncontrollable and guess what he did. When Demacia did all the horrible things and he tries to teach em a lesson about ,,what happens when you lock us up" Demacia will be like ,,Lol we didn't do ENOUGHT"... And as much as I hate to say it yes Lux is boring but she has a better stance on the matter of mages.
I don't support Demacias tyranic regime towards mages but the absolute fear of magic is the reason why they still exist and there are some other redeming qualities about Demacia.
