Yeah usually Riot goes for nice cinematics for their champs trailers. I believe they went for in-game footage for Sylas because they felt it was important to show what his kit brought to the game (stealing other champ's ultimates). They showed a bunch of examples in the video so players would understand the gimick.
I went to watch skinspotlight's sylas special interactions and I can say most of the voicelines there are definitely better delivered and less cringy. Maybe you guys could take a look at that?

While Modern era is all about Reason senses, pursuit of personal happiness and meaning, liberty and equity (equal rights, every poor could become rich and part of the government). He aims to replace King (+ Nobles) and Mysticism with Government (Polical Parties/Parliament) and Ideology.

I dont recommend watching voicelines on channels other than skins spotlight. Like in this example this channel only provided about 1/3 of all his lines. Fun fact about Sylas , he can wield any magic he comes in contact with. Be it a simple spell or things as powerful as "divine intervention". Also his chains are made of petricite which absorbs magic like a sponge same material that Garen s sword and most Demacia is made of.

If you guys really want to know why every champion says what they say, you should try to watch their lore some of them are short but some of them are long.
Yeah the way they call that trailer is a little confusing when normally their trailers are the cinematics. I think Sylas's voicelines are a little gimicky, but in a game with 150+ champions sometimes it's nice to not have a god slayer or a god for every champ. I think they could of given sylas a little more depth beyond "I was locked up" and "Rebellion!". I think they missed some opportunities to explore his character more. What being is locked like? Was he in pain? Did he lose trust for people? Why didn't the mages help him? As far as in game, he's one of the most fun characters to play and incredibly strong at the moment so I wouldn't say he's weak. Also I can totally see the Gaston now 😂
I am not sure how you think he looks like Gaston? He certainly doesn't sound like him, Gaston sounds like pure smarminess. He doesn't use much emotional variance because all of what you hear is focused on his anger and hatred of Demacia and its rulers.
Oh he 100% looks like gaston in that voiceover ..sound like him? We never claimed that 🤣 Anger and hatred can be expressed many ways and with much emotional variance or none at all. Theres no rule for that. In these it was absolutely a bit monotonous. People are saying the interactions are better so im looking fwd to those 🤙🏼
