Dave is not the greatest singer like a Ronnie James Dio pure real singer, but he is the greatest for this band, perfect chemistry, etc. Dave was the ultimate front man for what the girls want.. Second only to Elvis for drawing in the chicks, all that bombastic sexual stuff.. When I got Van Halen I album when I was a young teenager, My mom said "who is THAT??" the picture of shirtless Dave doing the back bend.. her eyes about popped out.. A band needs a DAVE to bring in the chicks.. and Eddie for the coolest guitar, perfect rockin band altogether!!
Who cares? Lol. You don't listen to VH just to hear perfect notes and timing. It's about how the music makes you feel and think. Dave's job was just to articulate and personify the sound.
Dave is still as always the weak link. But not as badly on this performance. The voice didnt completely fail him here. Probably because the pace is slower and a bit talky. And boyo everyone knows Dave can talk.
Diamond Dave was and forever will be Van Halen!!! Just didn't work the same without him
