I've been enjoying watching you go through your thought process on your blocks. You've certainly given me some ideas to stretch my quilting imagination! Thank you 😊
I just came across this video - another treat! Thanks Karen. A tip when setting in circles this way: when you clip the seam allowance, clip only two-thirds or three-quarters into the seam allowance (depending on how loose/tight the fabric weave is and also how small the circle is). This will allow the bias stretch of the fabric to make smooth curves and it eliminates the pokies in the turned-under edge.
Hi! I hope you had a delightful day. I just got my first chance to sit down and watch your video because it has been a fun sewing day for me. I hope you have a great week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Love this. I think the black and white strip that started thinner and got wider was better and being on the black background on top of the pink - lots of layers. I've never tried reverse applique circles - I will have to have a go. Enjoyed the whole process thank you.
I love learning your technique. I think a stronger pink and on the idea of a film, I was thinking that if you added the idea of perspective. That is the film is skinny coming out of the circle and is larger as it goes toward the border. It would tell a story. I love how the process develops. You help me realize that if it isn't to my liking I can ditch it- as the Marine Quilter says, "It's only fabric and it's only thread!". Have a great day.
Yep, like the addition of the black stripe! I've never done reverse applique. I think it might be a bit fiddly for me unless I only did a few in a project. I like the look, however. It will, as always, be interesting to see where these circles take you!
Love the reverse applique tutorial. I love the way it looks. I really liked the black and white stripe on the black ( film strip), but the more I look at the pink background, the more I'm starting to like that. LOL..if only you could hear me yelling through the screen...."Nooooo!!! put it back on the black!!!!"... My daughter thinks I'm crazy..."Um, she can't hear you mom" Thank you for another great video...still working on my 2 1/2 inch four patch squares with straight color stripes...but now I want to add a reverse applique circle to one...As I've said before...you've created a monster🤣
Have you tried using the card stock from which you cut the circle (with the size hole in it from the circle you cut out) as a guide for turning under the clipped edge of the fabric for the reverse applique. It seems like it might make turning your curve easier and smoother. Just a thought. I haven't tried it.
Great minds think alike, Jenedel! That was actually what I had in mind when I started filming. And I did try it, but somehow I mixed up the Record/Stop sequence and it got lost in the shuffle. I'll cover it next time though--mostly that it didn't really work for me; it was too fiddly, but it might well work for someone else. Good idea!
Sorry, no. Thinking/talking through the process is why my followers are here, so they can begin to form their own thought processes while designing quilts themselves. I appreciate that it is not eveyone's cup of tea, and if you are looking for "here's how to make this quilt, step by step," you will find much other content that is more to your liking. Feel free to move on, no comment needed. I wish you well in finding the channels that will work better for you.

Thanks, Frances; I'm so happy if the videos have sparked some ideas!

Thanks very much, Brenda; have a good week! 🥰
I really appreciated that his family have never done this. Lots of great ideas maybe a landscape quilt Sun.
A sun would be a good idea!
Lovely block - bonus to reverse applique lesson 🧵
Thank you, Janet!

I like the idea of perspective, Ann; thanks! Have fun with your imagination, and if it doesn't work...oh, well! 🥰

Thanks, Cindy; I'm always interested to see where I go with it, too! 😂
Wow great ideas are coming out of this piece. Reminds me of a straw coming out of a.glass of lemonade :)
Oh, I can definitely see that, Julie! ☺️

Yell away, LeAnne! Your kind of monster I like! 🥰

Please do not plan as you go. Plan ahead or do a practise run please
