Peterbilt for the win! living in the UK its incredibly rare to see one, saw one when i was young at a show and sat in it etc...fell in love right then!
That brown kenworth cabover at 0:20 is nice i seen it in one of your walkaround videos i live in Miami i would have gone up there just to see that truck if i knew it was going to be there nice video man keep them coming.👍👍👍👍👍
@williammccauley8900 specs, where do run it, etc?? Got videos of it? Long hood show trucks are fine but its the old working trucks that catch my attention.
At 00:49 there is a freightliner cabover. I need one of you COE enthusiasts to tell me what the deal is with the rear of the cab wall that goes from vertical to leaning in towards the front. From about 12 to 11 on a clock dial. I know how the front goes straight vertical til about a foot or so above the headlights and then is angled past straight up 12 to about 1 on the dial. Also the side box doors on drivers side there are 2. My fathers old boss had one like this but the small sidebox door had a emblem on it that said Denver. Probably a 80 model or so. I always thought that was the model but a old O/O told me the old freightliner paint schemes were named after cities. My dads 80 model and pretty much every other freightliner COE he drove had a straight vertical back wall on it I thought. What is special about this body style with the back wall and the 2 side box'es on drivers side , I never saw many like that. There was one at Walcott truck show summer of 2015 but I never could catch the owner by it to ask him if he knew. Just curious about this. Thanks
Are you talking about air cleaners. Cabovers don't have space on the side of the cab for air cleaners so they put these pipes with little circles behind the cab. An air cleaner basically acts as a large air filter. Good thing about them they look nice chromed out the 2 bad things about them 1. They are expensive option(we are a small trucking firm with 6 trucks and 5 of our 6 trucks we ordered new) for new chrome air cleaners at the factory installed runs about 5000 bucks no lie. 2. It cuts down on your mileage. Your big mileage trucks like freightliner cascadia, international prostar and western star 5900 xe I don't think you can from the factory order external air cleaners because typical fleets who order them are trying to maximize mileage
Honestly I wondered that too and came to the conclusion it was a design characteristic that carried over from the length limits when they incorporated the stacks and breathers into the sleeper so when the truck was as close to the sleeper as possible when the truck went through a ditch the top of the trailer wouldn't kiss the top of the cab
Man I never understood the appeal of show trucks. You have a beautiful work horse, a brute, then you ruin it with over done chrome, an extended and lowered chassis, ridiculous pipes and awful paint schemes. Gotta love the old fashioned guys though, just some chrome rims and some nice stripes and that's all you need.
