Thank you for the video, I just make a hair cream for my course hair, know I'm looking to do a hot oil treatment because I normally get relaxers because my hair is thick. Keep smiling, your smile is beautiful.
You can try this when next you moisturize your hair: add a thick oil like Jamaican black castor oil or a hair butter to your ends to seal in the moisture and reduce breakage. Try to tuck in your ends. If that doesn’t work, try trimming your ends if you haven’t in a while.
Its over 2 years since I had this and hair is breaking. I dyed it anyway which i believe is a factor but to think that i have not paid attention to my hair for years😢😮😮
I have low porosity hair. I wash my hair 3 times a month. My scalp drys up within 3 days of oiling it. Itches slight the next day and then the itche becomes slight bit more. I believe my hair follicles are clogged and my strands breaks leaving my shorter hair strands much shorter. What can I do ?
You definitely need to use heat to open your hair follicles. I would say not to wait so long between wash days. Wash your hair, rinse, wash hair, rinse, condition, put oil on your scalp & hair, put plastic bag on hair and sit under dryer for 30 minutes (deep conditioning), rinse, put in leave in conditioner (ALWAYS DEEP CONDITION & USE LEAVE IN CONDITIONER). Research low porosity hair, there's a wealth of info that can help you better care for your hair.
@@keishanash1890 I don’t perm my hair I should have mention. What do you use to get rid of the itch. My hair extremely lacks moisture right low for years.
Great info! I noticed back when i was using oil, then straightening after, my hair was retaining legnth thanb usual. I had an emphany that it was because it was creating a hot oil treatment. I have medium to high porosity hair. My hair likes heavier products, so i use olive oil after washing (while hair is still damp), keep the oil in and do braid outs. I'm about to start again, hopefully by January my hair will be to my knees 🤞
Thank you for sharing! This is extremely detailed and informative. As another low porosity girlie, I am working on collecting some ingredients to began my own hot oil treatments. How often would you recommend them to start?
Thanks for this. My hair is breaking or shedding so badly at the back. No matter how many times I cut the back it grows and breaks. For the hot oil treatment what was the ratio for the oils? i.e. was it more castor oil, and less argon oil/ rosemary oil or vice versa?
I put more carrier oils and depending on what my hair needs, I add a few drops of the essential oils. Here are some hot oil mixtures I have made th-cam.com/play/PLCT7rEmj0XkxXP-SVYxZBPzzIdB5o67KS.html&si=T9QOEzDUQzrHndtK
I always thought hot oil treatments were supposed to be after the conditioner. Is that not true? How’s the hair after you shampoo? Doesn’t the shampoo take the oil back out?
I’m not 100% sure yet but I believe doing a hot oil treatment after shampoo & before conditioner are more effective to nourish hair. The alkalinity of shampoo & heat are two ways to open the hair cuticle which would release dirt, oils, etc from within the hair cuticle. The acidity of conditioner closes (smooths) the hair cuticle so adding the oils first, theoretically, may allow more nutrients in to the hair cuticle. You could probably add the hot oils after conditioner but then your hair might be weighed down or extra oily. I’m planning to test these theories with my hair.

Good day great information. I did the do and bleached my natural hair. Now it’s a mess with breakage ++++. How to solve this?
Here are some suggestions discoveringnatural.blogspot.com/2024/02/why-your-hair-breaks-when-you-color-it.html
@@DiscoveringNatural hi Sola thank you for the update, however, I have no intention on recoloring my hair I need to deal with the breakage.
Do you do the hot oil treatment on freshly washed hair?
You can but for my hair, low porosity, I do it before washing

What type of shampoo (moisturing, clarifying, etc.) do you use after the oil treatment to properly cleanse you hair?
I use Sheamoisture JBCO shampoo amzn.to/3T4Z4MH
