    I was 13 year old kid when Bird stole the ball and I cried myself to sleep that night. The next year Isiah breaks his ankle in game 6 was another gut punch. To win it all in 89 and 90 was unbelievable. Just awesome! Great memories. The Piston teams of that era are on the Mt Rushmore of all time NBA teams. Baaaaad Boyyysss!

    Growing up in Flint Mi in the 80’s I was all in on these Pistons! The Bad Boys are the only team in NBA history to take out Larry Bird (Celtics) Michael Jordan (Bulls) and Magic Johnson (Lakers) in one playoff season! Epic!

    That was a complete basketball team. Top to bottom. Greatest defensive team in NBA history. They didn't give up lay up's. You came in that lane you got delt with. They punished the opposition and didn't apologize for it either. They played in a time where the League was tuff.

      In 91 the Pistons still had a contender. To make it back to the Easter conference Finals again. The only difference if they got anywhere near Jordan it was a foul and the Bulls were better. It was no longer Jordan carrying the team.

    RIP Chuck Daley he was a great coach. He passed away in 09 and that's when Dumars started making bad moves. Chuck had to be advising him along with Bill Davidson. Bad Boys for life Isiah is the best PG of all time. I remember watching him torch Stockton so bad with 40+ they had to take him out. Him and Dumars were the best backcourt of all time.

    Isiah has been, is, and always will be my favorite basketball player of all time!! He was the smallest guy on the court most nights, but had the BIGGEST heart and will to win!! I literally learned how to play the game just by watching him play! I was so happy for him when he finally won the title!! At that point, i didn't think ANYONE deserved to win it more than him!!

    The best era of basketball and the best Pistons team. I remember all the kids at school had those black Detroit Bad Boys shirts with the skull and crossbones. Bill Laimbeer was always my favorite player, I love how he always played the villain. It seemed like the more hated he was by the opposing team (and their fans,) the better he played and the more fun he was having. He was one of those guys that EVERYBODY who didn't live in Michigan hated, but you know they would have loved him if he was on their team lol.

    These guys were talented, tough, had clutch performers and had guys who could score. They had a lot of weapons. The Knicks of the 90’s modeled their team on the Bad Boys, but though they were tough, dirty and played tough d, they had nowhere near the talent, scorers or clutch performers. Though the Bad Boys lived up to their monikor of being dirty, they were talented enough to be repeat champions and actually 3-peated, but were robbed of a championship with that bogus call on Kareem. The Pistons were loaded with talent, played as a team, and excelled on both ends of the court. They pretty much helped the Bulls become a dynasty by being such a tough opponent to overcome. Combined with their influence on the Bulls, they were connected to at least 6 championships, and with Rodman going to the Bulls, basically 9 championships.

    Through the years I watch them played they will always be the baddest the dirtiest and lots of pride showing they don't allow any teams to push them around because they will fight back and hurt you real good. Remember the pistons when I was young growing up back in the when they put the team together by McCloskey they were more exciting to watch and they stick together as one unit til they gotten them their first NBA title which they would of gotten back in 88' before 89' that would been back to back then their third be in 90' to go three peat, it didn't go that way so we accept to receive two in 89' and 90' titles yes it was disappointed when they lost Mahorn but they kept doing what they do best and win as much games in regular season and playoffs and the finals all their work was paid off during their era before they broke up in the early 90s as for the palace since its gonna be gone in 2020 we all will remember the times they won and lost there in that building including playoffs and NBA finals it will be missed and memory the palace of auburn hills 1988-2017.

    They'd have more championship banners if that phantom foul wasn't called. Also if they didn't draft Darko in 03. Imagine Carmello on that team. That 04 team made it to 6 straight Eastern conference finals. They just didn't have an elite scorer to match LeBron. Mello averaged 28pts a game.

    Can anyone here please share what watching games in the Silver Dome was like compared to the Palace and now currently, the Little Ceasars Arena.
    I'm a LAKER, I used to Love growing up watching Ball games with the 1980's "SHOWTIME" LAKERS In the Great Western Forum.
    I ask about the SilverDome because it's being Demolished.
    Thank You.

    • @edmerc92
      @edmerc92 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Silverdome was a huge football stadium with no frills, no air conditioning, no video scoreboard, and a giant curtain covering up part of the stadium. It was fun when it had 40-50,000 fans and could get really loud but the views were poor.
      The Palace wasn't as loud (although it got louder in the Ben Wallace era) but was just a much nicer venue, comfortable seats, good sightlines, better scoreboard.
      I haven't been to a game at Little Caesars but I've heard it's not really an upgrade from the Palace.

    • @mohammedkhaleel7542
      @mohammedkhaleel7542 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Little caesars arena sucks, especially for basketball... the silverdome was an amazing place to be during this era... the players looked like ants, but the atmosphere was amazing... the palace was arguably the best arena in basketball... amazing place to watch a game...

    I loved to hate The Pistons. I did like Dumars, Dantley and Vinnie Johnson. I was a huge Bird and The Celtics fan, but really felt bad for Dantley and Johnson after their bad, head to head collision. That was a hard lick. If I remember correctly the lead in that game was switching back and forth, with Detroit looking pretty good until that collision. I was glad that Boston won that key game, but I thought then and still think it costed The Pistons that game.

    As a Chicagoan and a Bulls fan. I give this lousy, dirty, cheap-shot team their due. While there game was pure garbage and their rings are seen now with asterisks. This criminal team taught the Bulls how to play against the thug teams that would come later like the Knicks, Heat, and Pacers. So thank you Pistons, you were a disgraceful champion, a poor loser, and a 3 year blight on the league that spanned 3 years between REAL champions Showtime and Da Bulls. I am so pleased that history looks back at your championships with disdain and embarrassment ......as it should!

      Well I’m a Detroiter all my life. Love the Pistons and always will. Never were they lousy or dirty. Just winners fair and square. So your teams got lumps and bruises along the way. They finally started winning didn’t they? However we won first. 😮😊😂

    Pistons cheated and got away with it if the rules of physical contact was changed a few years sooner Jordan would of had 8 to 10 rings.
