Out of all the bionicle villains the rakshi and kraata I like a lot because they are like over grown dog cat type creatures
I remember going to legoland California as a kid and completing some scavenger hunt. As the sun went down I rushed to the store with my completed hunt map and was rewarded with a clear neon green Lewa mask. It was the rarest thing my young self ever possessed and I cherished it for a long time.
I love how literally every Bionicle fan silently agrees that the correct order is red, blue, green, white, brown and black
Update - as many people have mentioned, I swapped the two silver Avohkiis - light silver was 2010, dark silver was 2003 - my bad!

The lighter silver avohkii came on stars Takanuva, the darker silver was what was used for Makuta’s claws in his 2003 set. There were 3 different silver shades in the 2 gens of bionicle. The darker silver avohkii is in the pearl light grey color, since that was used originally in the early years of bionicle. 2006 was when they updated to pearl very light grey, and late 2010 when hero factory started was when it was changed yet again to flat silver. Also, noble masks are not powerless, they are just less powerful than their great mask counterparts. Toa and Turaga can both use noble masks, but only Toa can use great masks. Toa Norik wore a Kanohi Pehuki, the great mask of diminishment, shaped after Turaga Dume’s noble Kiril. The power was different. The gold Kraahkan came in the Tower of Toa set, not Battle for Metru Nui.
Man it's crazy how i can relate specific key moments of my childhood to plastic masks. It was always a joy sitting in the car after a long day with a Bionicle capsule driving home with my parents. Couldnt wait to build it and fight with my older Figures. Goated Lego Product.

The copper Huna actually has two undocumented variants instead of just the one. The versions given out in America were strangely translucent, closer to the Golden Kanohi from 2001; you can shine a light behind them and see a noticeable amount of it coming through the plastic. The versions given out in Europe are much more akin to the copper Komau, having the proper degree of opacity. I haven't seen many people talk about it, and I had to message some Bricklink sellers to make sure of what I was getting when I got both variants for my own collection.

It's so cool seeing them all in one place. Do you think you would ever consider 3d printing the other 'canon' Kanohi from the comics and canon contests and have them on display too? I know you already have Artakha's and Helryx's kanohi for example.
The Pearl Kraahkan is absurdly rare. That, alongside the Trans Orange Kraata are the two holy grails. For whatever reason, they're harder to obtain than the G2 Gali Mask, which only had 200 copies released. I managed to finally get both after about a year of searching, and was lucky enough to get a Pearl Visorak Shell in my childhood Battle of Metru Nui set (didn't even realize it was a misprint until 2019ish). I wish you the best of luck in finding these, they're crazy!
Little known mask variation, but both the '06 Vezon Ignika and Axonn's Rode came in Flat Silver and Pearl Silver. It's super subtle and I didn't even know it came in both colors myself until a few months ago. Additionally, both the Copper Huna and Komau came in opaque and translucent variants, and for some reason fans usually only differentiate between the Huna and not the Komau. The yellow and purple Krana also had color variants but they're a bitch to track down.
Also, there's 1 more Glatorian mask in blue (from Kaxium), but it's from a Hero Factory set

The Mask of Light is the other way around. The darker (flat silver) one came in Makuta and the lighter (Pearl Light Gray) one came in Takanuva 2010

I'll never forget the time I wanted to enter the hagah contest and thought it would be cool to use copper huna as shoulder armor. Sadly, I never did enter because I thought the rules were to restrictive

I noticed that there are two colors of the golden Kanohi from 2001. One that is darker and one with a yelloish tint. I think all Masks have these. You can see the difference if you hold them in front of a light source. This effect is most notable on the Kakama and Kaukau, as they have the thinest plastic. It is nice for the Kaukau, because it makes it more transparent. I showed this effect in my last Advent of Krana Video("Advent of Krana Conclusion") at 2:20.
I always thought the masks where balanced in that the more powerful the less specific the ability. Such as the mask of dimensional gates being unable to accurately teleport like mask of quick travel.
watched this video while organizing my own Kanohi collection, ‘‘twas really fun lol
btw there seem to be two variants of the Kanohi Rode, one in true silver and one in Pearl light grey. In my experience it seems that the true silver variant was more common with Axonn, while the pearl light grey variant was more common in the system playsets, though BrickLink seems to show that silver and Pearl light grey versions were found in both Axonn and the system sets perhaps depending on date of production.
Also, the helmet found in the Kaxium V3 and Cendox V1 also came in Mata Blue in a hero factory set if you’d consider adding it to your display.
Also may not be a bad idea to commission a resin trans-blue Mask of water as a placeholder since it’s far more unobtainable in comparison to say the Pearl Gold Kraakhan.
Norik's mask was actually the Pehkui (mask of diminishment) in the form of a Kiril, which allowed him to shink down to 6 inches.
Fun fact, the set designers making the Toa phantoka/mistika actually hadn't actually been told they were meant to be the Toa nuva instead they thought i was another version of the Toa Inika/Mahri, thats why they're such massive departures from those original/nuva masks, I think they were told by the time they got to phantoka cause those seem vaguely more reminiscent, heck you can even see prototype images where tahu & gali had their roles/colours swapped (which looks far better imo)
So they designed the Mistika before the Phantoka?

I randomly found the neon transparent lewa mask on the floor glistening in the sun near the grass whilst walking through a park from school. It was so random! By that point It must’ve been around ‘07/‘08. I considered the older bionicle from a bygone era. Unfortunately it was kinda bent and broken in the mouth area but I still used it. A good memory
Idk what it is about the series 1-2 of Bionicle they’re so iconic. I sold all my bionicles when I first moved out yet I’m still haunted by them.

12:28 I believe the darker silver was the original Avohkii that was released with Makuta in 2003. The lighter silver came with the Stars line when Lego updated silver colored pieces during 2005-2006.

I only now noticed thay the Ignika has an outline of Mata Nui on the faceplate. So many cool details, man Bionicle is so cool. Definitely one of the best toy lines ever.

Pretty dope legit mask collection. I hope to get at least the regular most common Mata and Turaga masks. I already have a green Akaku and white Miru from the time my cousins gave me their Bonkles. Oh, and I already bought a blue misprint Ruru so it's not a bad start I suppose.

the toa hagah (with the exception of Iruini) had masks that were forged in the shape of other kanohi. So Norik has the kanohi pekhui, but it's shaped like a kiril, in honor of a past hero

Noble masks doesn't refer to masks being powerless. Noble masks are just masks that are slightly weaker than a great mask, The black rahkshi head is also metallic black btw like the rest of that rahkshi. Metallic is the color of the set version Kraahkan as well. Bomongas head is just a plain black so there is a difference in color, like the others
He corrects himself later in the video about the noble masks. This mad man talked about every single fucking bionicle mask/face gimmick, and gave concise short descriptions on their history and powers. Give him a bit of slack.
The Piraka Irnakk head is one of the most wanted ones for me, plus the corrupted Hau mask. I have most of the other original versions of the masks. I didn't go for every color through the gacha system, which I'm A-OK with personally. The major sets I wish I had that are missing from my collection are all the original Rahi sets, 2 of the Bohrok, and a few Titan sets.
Fun fact, the Kanohi Kakama (Pohatu's) also allows the user to travel through solid objects if they're going fast enough.

I used to have a dark gold Mask of Shadows. But I was dumb and gave it to a kid, thinking it was the more common variant.
I know not everyone likes the Phantoka/Mistika masks, and if I’m being honest neither do I, but to be fair the Nuva masks don’t really look much like the original 2001 masks either. I just wanna know why Tahu Mata’s adaptive armor didn’t give us a desert version in 2010 beyond theme cancellation.
Very impressive collection! The closest ser I came to finishing was the first generation, and even that I only got about 60% completed. It's still in storage in a official(?) Bionicle mask storage case that I am pretty sure came from Toys R Us in some way.

You better believe it threw me for a loop when I heard my brown Komau was at all rare, I felt ashamed for having kept that and the white Huna stowed away in zip lock bag in a drawer with my other bulk masks.

Bionicle is the only instance in which it is acceptable to say you have a collection of faces.
There's two versions of the Huna of Victory. A more translucent version and a solid version. You can tell the difference by shining light behind them. I forget which is harder to find however.
Right, the annoying thing was that as far as I could tell, Bricklink doesn’t actually distinguish between those variants, so it was hard to say which was which in terms of display

hi there after looking a people's collection i noticed that a lot of people miss the chrome silver kanohi hao mask i used to have it. it came with some cd with a tan matoran dawning the mask.
DuckBricks can you make a vedio on color coded sets for example *all red bionicles * .. And explain thier purpouse chronologically and finally explaining your favorite /and or technicality / mask etc .. Please make a all color coded if possible it would be so cool .. Like how all the red power ranger collided tht one time
