    I started at 14mg of subs 8 months ago. Went down 2mg every 6 weeks and after 8 months was able to get down to 1mg. Stayed at 1mg for 2 weeks then went down to .5mg. Continued at .5 for about 10 days then stopped all together. That was 8 days ago.... first three days for me were the hardest. Felt very tired(lethargic), mild muscle soreness, mild restlessness and difficulty sleeping, mild on and off headaches, was sneezing and yawning 50 times a day, using the toilet(#2) 10 times a day, also had trouble focusing. On day 4 the symptoms reduced slightly(20%). Day 5, 30% reduction in symptoms compared to 1st three days. Day 6 my energy levels stared to return, was able to get full night sleep and the physical symptoms were 60% less than 1st three days. On day 7 I woke in the morning feeling relatively good. It was a very good feeling. throughout that day I only felt 20% of the severity of symptoms from 1st three days. Today, day 9, I'm feeling great most symptoms have subsided only issue is I'm feeling a bit of low energy still. Psychologically I did not experience any depression but did feel some anxiety the 1st 3-4 days. Ive never really suffered from depression or chronic anxiety in my life. I know my psychological fortitude helped me avoid the depression and anxiety and everyone is different. Some people may feel much worse with the combination of physical symptoms and psychological symptoms. Personally I felt like the anxiety for the 1st 4 days was nearly as uncomfortable as the physical symptoms. Fortunately it didn't last very long. The stress from getting off subs wasn't that difficult compared to the many other hardships Ive experienced. I'd rather go through this again than be dumped by another girlfriend. Perspective is important my friends. In conclusion, YOU CAN DO IT!!! JUST DO IT!! and IT WILL SET YOU FREE!! Strongly recommend getting down to .5mg. Five weeks ago I tried jumping off at 2mg, made to day 3 caved and jumped back on. Withdrawal symptoms at 2mg are 3 times stronger compared to.5mg. Get yourself down to .5mg or less and stay at that dose for 2 weeks, and then kiss it goodbye. Hope this helps someone.

      Thats why you had withdrawl. You tapered too fast. I lowered my dose by
      .10 every 2 months. After 12 months i was taking .15 for 8 weeks and stopped with 0 withdrawl. The more time you take the more your body adjusts

      How are you doing now, Vincent? I'm helping a friend while she works with her doctor on a long term taper. 2mg was just too high for her to jump off, so we basically cut 2 mg into slivers so tiny you can barely hold it (2mg is small already when you cut down an 8mg film!). She reduced one of those pieces every other day (I can't even do the math on that) but it seems to be working!

    First, Dr.B I respect what you are trying to do in the world of drug addiction that being said, having addiction and family history riddled with addiction and childhood trauma, western medicine and therapy in this area is crap. I’ve done so much research, have you experienced addiction? How can you guide if you haven’t lived it? Clinics are full of counselors that know nothing about addiction and the way they relate to addicts is definitely lacking. For the patients/addicts you are not the drug. Something inside went somewhat haywire and don’t give up on yourselves and stay on these meds forever! I thought it was going to save my life but since taking it I have never felt so terrible mentally, spiritually and physically. There is a fortune being made off of addictions. I pray you find the right help, get healthy as you can. Find natural ways to heal. Western medicine does not want you to figure it out! I’m trying to find my personalized treatment plan naturally. Dear God if I find it I will shout it to the roof tops!

    Nobody ever talks about the side effects of long term Subonxone use...decreased sex drive...almost non existent. Difficulty urinating and bladder pressure. Dull senses, dull emotions, like there is a bla ket over your spirit preventing you from feeling fully human. Like thatlight inside you has gone out. At least on opiates I was creative, felt human. Suboxone helps you mainyain life on autopilot. Which can be helpful to adjust to new ways of living.

I’m planning on getting the 300mg shot one month ; and 100mg shot the 2nd month and then ride off into the sunset. It’s been 13 damn years of Bupe ruining my life. It also saved my life but I should have only taken it short term in the beginning however I wasn’t educated and my dr definitely didn’t have my best interest at heart.

      @zacharymorris2613 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m telling you right now, withdrawals are waiting at the end of the road no matter what administration route you choose. You have to taper a long time to get your receptors thoroughly cleaned out and through the elimination phase. That’s the whole point of tapering, easing your body back into a healthy cycle of producing its own endorphins again.. sublocade is just going to stuff your receptors full of bupe and make your body MORE dependent than ever.
      10 years on subutex here. Just tapered down to 2mg/day from 8

  • @jessshaver4697
    @jessshaver4697 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Gotta start taking magnesium potassium, caffiene free tea bc has l-theanine. At 8mg your receptors are 80 percent saturated, at 4 mg your receptors are still half saturated, I made mistake of jumping at 2mg and wd for months not realizing it's still a big dose... Also, Suboxone is a strange drug to ween off bc as you get to doses below 4 it starts acting as norbuperinorphine which is full agonist so that's why it gets rough. Plus it's half life is ridiculous, you really wanna start stretching as many hours as you can before dosing.. also there's no info about how it functions as an anti depressant but it does and long term use causes depression in a lot of ppl, although it's why it works for some and when they go off it they kill themselves. So if you start having suicidal thoughts seek help. I found taking small dose for two days then taking the previous dose the third day then dropping to smaller dose confuses your body into thinking it's gonna get bigger dose. Ugh. I'm gonna write a book. Message me with any questions

    • @benythjet
      @benythjet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      " as you get to doses below 4 it starts acting as norbuperinorphine which is full agonist so that's why it gets rough" Is that your medical opinion? What you said there is incorrect. it does NOT begin affecting you, at 4mg, as a full agonist would and you shouldnt tell people that it does. Your statement is a reflection of your interpretation of the relief you felt from adapting to a lower dose.

    There's absolutely no way of tapering off without withdrawals Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that blocks off your endorphins and stays in your system for a very long time. I'm on my 3rd week of just quitting cold turkey because tapering off was still giving me withdrawals till I just had enough and decided it was time to just jump off. Started with 4mg than I went to 2mg then I went to 1mg for 6yrs. It was insanity. The acute withdrawals the 1st week was literally hell diarrhea, irritability, crying, hot/cold flashes, anxiety, chronic insomnia, fatigue, zero appetite. I couldn't do regular daily task. Now on my 3rd week it's going a little better except for the insomnia and lack of energy and occasional hot flashes. I don't know when this is going to stop but I've been so miserable 😢

      It's he'll til the very end of the withdrawal. Physical last 2 weeks. The mental part last for about 3 to 4 months. That's just me personally. The only way I did it was taper down. No other personal issues thats stressful in life. Keep everything as simple as possible. Pray. Pray. Pray. Faith. Faith. Faith. This is about impossible to quit but it's also possible and I know ow that's it do able. I've done. I just had to get back on it and again, I'm scared. There's a lot going on thats stressful in my life right now. So I am probably going to wait until after the holidays and these stress factors are over. It's too much to deal with. So best answer is to wait, til life is stress free and you've tapered. Absolutely never quit taking this until your anxiety is at bay. I know we all can do this. When the time is right. God bless

    The key to get off of suboxon is taking it once a day at the same time and it's not easy but it makes it easier to go down .when going off it's going to be crazy all the old thoughts come back so go back on a small dose.the next time you go off it we'll be much easier that first real bad withdrawal only happens once .Going in a 7 to 14 detox center would be best for this transition. The next 8 month everything gets better. There is just no easy way out but worst of it really isn't that long .Good luck it's a battle.

I just finally got back to 1 some months ago, and now am trying to get a week + stable on .5 again. Finally almost back ugh.
      Subs saved my life. I will never deny that, complete miracle drug of sorts. But I am tired of having any crutch. Tired of the tooth decay. Dedicating 20-30 mins a day to max absorption of the strips. It beats the hell out of full blown opiate addiction, but it’s still its own. I understand those who stay on it though, absolutely nothing wrong with that. Just feel I am ready to go sober, truly lol.

    I can manage most wds, the exception being restless leg. I am taking clonidine, and some loperamide for poopies. I had to take some sub it was a tiny amount to sleep last night due to the restless leg and arms both feel like there are ants crawling in my skin. I also get strong electrical surges in my brain every time this happens. During the day I am doing pretty well other than mood swings, tearing up, and yawning a lot. I also get some aches and pains but there manageable. There is also some depression at times but its very mental possibly due to feeling all my emotions coming back. Before I would just take sub almost like a kill switch. Now I have to actually process these emotions, it can be something as simple as you need to eat something healthy, or be social, or focus on romantic relationship. Subs would mask most of these feelings.

I think the only people that can give genuine advice about it are those that have done it but they seem as easy to find as 🦄’s . For a guy that is such a pro with Suboxone, I find his tapering guide WAY TOO EXTREME/FAST. He advised that guy that he should cut one of his 8 mg doses in half?! Do you know how hard that is? A 4 mg drop just like that? Smh I thought you knew better Dr B. Especially with a guy that admitted that he sometimes abuses (takes more than prescribed) and sometimes goes a day without using. That guy needs to handle his stress in life in other ways instead of taking more suboxone or he'll never be able to taper because any discomfort will make him take

    • @briannestokes5190
      @briannestokes5190 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to look at the overall daily dose though. Yes if he was only taking 8mg daily, then a 4mg drop would be too much. But going from 24mg daily to 20mg daily is barely noticeable.

      Being on drugs for 30 years the methodone and suboxon forced me to take the time for my brain to heal .There no fast fix take the time when your body and mind are ready you well be able to ween off .I believe the most important thing listen to your body and try to train your self only to take your meds once a day at the same time everyday.which means every morning counting the minutes to take it but eventually your body well adapte to this its gets easier.I found splitting my mg up during the day that I would end haveing more withdrawals just at different times .It took me years to heal .That's what we are doing healing .So time and mental work and we can heal .Just like you can reverse type 2 diabetes if you change your whole world and how eat .once you beat addition you are in a group that beat one of the hardest illness. The only people that really understand are other addicts. So being sober is hard the work to stay clean never ends .To help heal my mind I listed to audio book on TH-cam called the Master Key psychology book might not be for everyone. It's sure answered a lot of questions I had been thinking about .

      If you're plateauing at 5, stay there for at least another month or two. When you feel yourself being comfortable and think you're ready to taper again, wait another 2 weeks. Then go down to 4. Stay on 4 for another month or two. If you slow taper like this, you'll end up eventually on 1, and should stay there for at least a month until you try and stop the 1. It truly is the best and most comfortable way.

      Don't switch....just kick.....subs are very tricky...it sound like a smaller amount of opiates....bit it's actually more going from 5mgs methadone to 4 mgs Suboxone would be like going back to 25 or 30 on methadone......0.1 percent of a milligram actually fills 60 to 70 percent of your opioid receptors. Suboxone is a trick to get you back up....you are doing great and 5 mgs should not be too bad....just put your faith in God and make it happen ......I am currently on day two of my cold turkey Suboxone kick from 8 mgs......I wish I never switched.....was down to 10 methadone.
