I repair and service these. We have to perform all these adjustments and tests at the shop after repair. Fun to see outside of work because it seems like something that nobody knows about but everybody indirectly uses.
Hello everyone. I’m afraid that Hurricane Harvey restoration has distracted me from posting some new videos. Let’s get started with this one and I’ll get some more posted in the near future. As usual, let me know if there’s a subject you’d like to hear about and I’ll do my best to get it posted. Kent
Hi Dustin. Yes, a line extender is a name for a type of amplifier. Basically, most of us refer to a line extender as an amplifier that has only one internal output. Amplifier are not passive devices. They are powered from power supplies that inject / insert 60-90 volts AC directly into the hardline cable plant. A power pack inside the amplifier then converts that voltage to 24 volts DC which is then used to provide bias power to the actual amplification circuit within the line extender.
Please show a video how to optimize an Arris 4000 and or 6000 Nodes and a video of how to fix the input levels ,verify how to knowthe correct module gain -30's , -40's . 🤔
Your entire balancing procedure was wrong!!! LOL just kidding. Im sure you got at least one of those guys in your group. I’m on my last night of on-call watching cable videos. I have been thinking about putting up videos like this.
Nice work on this! Would you be willing to make more like this? your way of teaching is amazing!
Awesome work on the breakdown 👍

You have a knack for teaching. I enjoyed the video.
Would love to see you get more videos out again
Can you make more video’s like this?
Do you have any other amplifier adjustment videos, if yes where can I view them
Are you still in the industry? We are all waiting to see how to videos to adjust the actives.
Is line extender just another name for an amplifier? Also are these passive devices? If not how are they powered?

Ideally how much signal should be coming into the amplifier? Looks like a minimum and ideal?

If you do let me know I’m trying to get on the maintenance team where I am and am looking up everything before I apply
Fun
