Are you in Silver 1? It would be interesting in these ToC video's if you talked about match ups. I notice that you are 133 million power, and that the guys units are quite a bit lower in power than you. I am slowly learning as an R5 how to keep my Alliance in Silver 1. This is only our second City 4 and matchmaking seems to be a chaotic random mess, that doesn't seem like it makes a lot of sense. I wish Lillith was more straight up about it. But Silver 2 seems to be around 1.75B (with exceptions) and Silver 1 seems to be around 2-3B (with exceptions). Thoughts?
So, the match making, there's a few things. No one individual base can exceed a certain size, now I can't actually remember if it's 350m or 300m. And alliance size can't exceed (again I can't quite remember) 5.5b or 5b power.
Then for grouping it's based on average power from there. There are also "hidden" factors that aren't declared, but rule of thumb we use in SALT is, no one above 300m and collectively remain below 5b. We are always in S1 then. When you get a higher average like we do, you see lots of gold players dropping down for an easy L4 is silver. It can be a pain because they often have double our tech levels on our individual trees making fighting them particularly hard.
@@TheSmokingCheddar yah :( I am in restricted right now, and even with the restriction we are finding it hard to play against servers that are over a year old - and we are only 4.5 month old :( Lillith, is ruining it's own game. I am sure tons more people would play this game if their matchmaking actually worked. Why are we playing against servers twice as old as us? Makes no sense :(
We also play restricted. For the most part sandbagging players, you get the odd one. On the odd occasion you get an entire alliance dropping down from gold and then you have a fight on your hands (much like we do now) it's the nature of the game, you win some, you lose some

Yeah, makes it easier to react to situations as they pop up (or air lift in!) and enables us to deal with them
