I can tell your not my age, I’m in my eighties ,and in my teens he was very popular , he made a great record called ‘ Maybe’, with my favourite singer Perry Como. Check it out.

This goes to show you we never stop learning & discovering. Jolson had a much greater impact on the entertainment industry than ever imagined. I’m blessed to have lived to see & hear the greatest of the greats.
I never knew Eddie Fisher had a set of pipes like that. Great voice. I knew he was a singer but the fact that he left Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor and the fact that he was Carrie Fisher's father seemed to take the focus away from his singing. But I see he actually had an excellent voice.
I've always thought that Eddie's voice was at it's remarkable height in the early to mid '60s. He has a lower register that he just didn't have 10-15 years before. At least I prefer it but I'm probably in a minority.
7 minute mark that looks like Robert Conrad and I suppose his wife Joan Kenley the blond to whom Eddie Fisher is singing - the reaction by Robert Conrad is priceless as EF hams it up with pause and "look at me"....
Eddie Fisher had a wonderful voice. He had a great talent as a singer. It is a shame that his career was derailed by so much negative publicity. Elizabeth Taylor and Debbie Reynolds benefitted from all sensational and scandalous press stories. It made them both hot in the industry. Eddie took the blame and developed a negative public image. Much has been written about Eddie's faults and addictions. However, Eddie was also a warm and generous person. He was not always predictable or stable in his personal relationships with his wives or his children. In hindsight, Eddie probably had undiagnosed and untreated bipolar disorder. This made him moody and difficult. His daughter Carrie inherited his beautiful voice and his bipolar disease. Both Eddie and Carrie self-medicated and battled with addiction all their lives. Luckily, Eddie's last wife Betty Linn was wealthy. Betty loved Eddie and cared for and protected him financially. She set up a trust fund for him and provided for him when she died. Carrie Fisher also developed a loving and caring relationship with Eddie and was there for him in his last days.
Well, now I understand why Eddie Fisher was at the Jolson Festival in San Francisco in 1999 when Clive Baldwin was there He didn't perform but attended all the shows that weekend. I wish I had known this about him I would done anything to sit and talk with him for a few minutes.
people were running out Wendy Fisher a single Jolson at the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill New Jersey. Chilson had the best voice in the entire world what planet did it come from we love that man what a guy.
Eddie Fisher and DEBBIE Reynolds...once a very ideal and happy couole...then enter a...Go Go Research! I Will be labeled as bias when I make my Ken or letting the bag out..Find out fir yourselves!
Yeah the way he treated Debbie Reynolds I want what God thinks about it and if you could buy right now Elizabeth Taylor broke that up so what do you think about them people Everyone glorified them I don't
Hollywood ruined him he got hooked up with drugs and too many women he should have stayed with Debbie that’s when I lost interest in him but he was a great singer you can’t take that away from him
He left his wife for Elizabeth. And Elizabeth was her best friend. Then when she did the cleopatra movie. She had an affair with her costar. Then Elizabeth left Eddie for him. Wow karma and shame on him. Infidelity is awful and friendship aren’t always true.
This man had one brilliant voice. His greatness was so underappreciated.
People seem to have forgotten the Golden voice of Eddie Fisher....it’s a shame.
Eddie Fisher had a great voice. He was good looking too. I think I have almost all his albums.
Fisher could really sing!!!!!!!!
One of my prettiest voices of America.
Thank you for posting and remembering how good he was !
Danny Thomas one of my all time favorites.

Absolutely a GREAT CHANTER AND A GREAT ENTERTAINER
Look at the ppl how they enjoyed a night out in the town. Everyone dressed for the night as well. Great times in Hollywood.
I loved watching all the beautiful women in the audience swooning over him. Women loved him and men wanted to be like him.
The only person who seemed unfazed by him was Grant Tinker! He already had Mary Tyler Moore so it was okay😂
Where has this gem been hidden for so many years??"

With all the booze and cigarets, his voice just got better and better over the years. Loved Fisher!!!!
dont forget the drugs
Oh my papa, this is great
Great performance
I loved Danny Thomas.
Eddie fisher was a great artist in the fifties too bad it all went wrong still have all his recordings
Eddie had a great voice to sing the Jolson melody who saw in Korea
Bernard Fradkin Of
Love Eddie singing to the young Mary Tyler Moore at about 5:49 and Robert Conrad at 7:01...
He was in his action spy movie era and she was in her dick Van Dyke show housewife era😂 even Grant Tinker (ex husband) enjoyed the serenade!
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 73yo Aussie fan.
1:51 Priceless!
Nobody went to the Diddy party after.😮

Maybe yes, maybe no. I do prefer his second version of Lady of Spain made when he signed with DOT records.

And based on the way he sang to her in this video, I think he had a little crush on Mary Tyler Moore too😏
It’s fabulous seeing Eddie croon to Laura Petrie.
Damn Anthony, I KNOW you have these whole shows. You gotta post em!
Sang Jolson the best!!!!
Look closely and you can see Eddie singing to Mary Tyler Moore and her husband grant tinker

I’ve seen m t Moore Robert Conrad but also in the front row stage right it looks like Edie Adams who had been a friend to Debbie
Great entertainment. Born too late. Touché.
Wonderful
Super
Great songs but Jolson was the the king. Always will be ? :)
Anthony, someone recently posted this entire show here. It is audio only but does give us the missing parts, though as I said audio only.
Fisher singing Jolson songs video is great!! Too bad it's blurred...anyway it can be put into focus?
Sorry Max it is what it is, I'm lucky to have it.
@@adf3comcast1 thanks for the feedback....wondering if we can get a clean copy from archives....l would help pay for the costs.
Fun fact: Mary Tyler Moore whom Eddie serenaded used to dance on his show!
5:37 Mary Tyler Moore?
Looks like MTM with Grant Tinker.
@@adf3comcast1 Sure looks like her!
Who was that with Mary TM?
@@nancycowan2946 If it was Grant Tinker, he was President of NBC,
@@StevenTorrey - MTM was married to Grant Tinker from 1962 to 1981 (divorced)
Who's the guy that jumped on stage briefly at 2:10 ?
Joey Bishop
Anthony DiFlorio yeah, I don't know that guy
Joey Bishop
Joey Bishop
Joey Bishop. A comedian.
Is that Spike Jones at 5:16 ?
Looks like him.
Yes.
His voice was the closest to Jolson of all the crooners. He had the entire package.
música para siempre
Al Jolson died only in 1950...
A Catskill mountain singer.
YEP
Which show is this please....fantastic.
that's Mary Tyler Moore in the white dress
is that Eddie Adams on the right of the stage?

Great entertainer.. but would love to have seen this done more in line with Jolson's style.
But was liz taylor.richard burton there?
Yeah the way he treated Debbie Reynolds I want what God thinks about it and if you could buy right now Elizabeth Taylor broke that up so what do you think about them people Everyone glorified them I don't
@ George Sanders - it was a very hurtful time for Ms. Reynolds and her two small children.
One of the truly great pop voices of all time! Too bad he became another victim of Elizabeth Taylor.
Hollywood ruined him he got hooked up with drugs and too many women he should have stayed with Debbie that’s when I lost interest in him but he was a great singer you can’t take that away from him
Nada que ver con AL JOLSON......
It's to bad that he gave up his career when he married Liz Taylor. Big mistake!
He left his wife for Elizabeth. And Elizabeth was her best friend. Then when she did the cleopatra movie. She had an affair with her costar. Then Elizabeth left Eddie for him. Wow karma and shame on him. Infidelity is awful and friendship aren’t always true.
AL JOLSON sang those songs much better, Eddie should not use this as an act......Eddie is a good singer, but not of Jolson songs...
So tired of the PC: the line is "sing old black joe."
He also sang "baby mine" instead of "mammy mine" but I have heard other artists do it too.
Eddie Fisher was very good, but Dean Martin was much much better, he was genius
Everyone entitled to an opinion.
martin was the better entertainer.....but couldent sing like eddie...it was all effortless.....
Not a fan
Boże, co za nuda!
