I've always thought that Eddie's voice was at it's remarkable height in the early to mid '60s. He has a lower register that he just didn't have 10-15 years before. At least I prefer it but I'm probably in a minority.

I never knew Eddie Fisher had a set of pipes like that. Great voice. I knew he was a singer but the fact that he left Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor and the fact that he was Carrie Fisher's father seemed to take the focus away from his singing. But I see he actually had an excellent voice.

Eddie Fisher had a wonderful voice. He had a great talent as a singer. It is a shame that his career was derailed by so much negative publicity. Elizabeth Taylor and Debbie Reynolds benefitted from all sensational and scandalous press stories. It made them both hot in the industry. Eddie took the blame and developed a negative public image. Much has been written about Eddie's faults and addictions. However, Eddie was also a warm and generous person. He was not always predictable or stable in his personal relationships with his wives or his children. In hindsight, Eddie probably had undiagnosed and untreated bipolar disorder. This made him moody and difficult. His daughter Carrie inherited his beautiful voice and his bipolar disease. Both Eddie and Carrie self-medicated and battled with addiction all their lives. Luckily, Eddie's last wife Betty Linn was wealthy. Betty loved Eddie and cared for and protected him financially. She set up a trust fund for him and provided for him when she died. Carrie Fisher also developed a loving and caring relationship with Eddie and was there for him in his last days.
