I know I'm probably really late to this, but the newer style TM2/Motorized front couplings are attached the same way as the old rear couplings, you'll just need to trim the little stems off of each side to get it to fit properly

Nah homie I agree; as much as it sucks I’ve found it easier to use the parts from scrap engines? That then means finding scrap engines though which is another layer to the headache haha- 😭
Also, did anybody notice that the troublesome truck in busy going backwards is coupling got pulled off by Oliver before the train started to go downhill

Alternative idea, if you have any busted talking engines, or old tomy t3nder engines, you can use th3 rubber connector as a more flexible coupling

had an idea for the 2 coal loads
you could paint them white/grey and make it like ballast has been used to give the tenders some extra weight
