I have always had tremendous respect for Craig's brand of humour (ESPECIALLY after his heart-to-heart monologue regarding 'punching up, not down' and alcohol history!). Now, realizing his aviation creds as well - my respect deepens. Glad to have him in our aviation community! Great interview. Thanks for posting this.
What a treasure Craig is! He is a wonderful spokesman for general aviation and, as a role model, the best when it comes to chatting up women, flirting, and, overall, how to converse comically and intimately with anybody.
This is a fantastic interview/show. The fact that they've known each other for nearly 20 years and can shoot the shit back and forth about something they both love, and share funny stories about it, etc. just makes it so good. I especially love the technical aspects of the chat, too, as I took private lessons back in the 90's. Good stuff.
Great combo. Love aviation and everything around those who respect and promote it. Worked with Ferguson on movie in 2003 in London and LA and think he's one of the funniest, most charismatic and genuine entertainers I've encountered. Thanks for doing this.
Great interview. Two friends sitting down, talking about trips and friendship. I've always had great respect for Craig's intellect, sharp wit and how he overcame his fear of flying.
Totally agree with the "first solo look." I went a step further and put my hand on the seat to make sure my instructor *really* wasn't there. Great memory recall!
I think back to when I first learnt to fly and realized that this was what helped me through the loss of my Mother. I would come down to earth and some how the grief was at bay. Learning to fly kept my mind on task and allowed me time to grieve healthily. It is a great way to allow you to prioritize what is important in life and plan forward. Thank You for this interview.
One of the very few celebrities I've ever met was Craig Ferguson at a double wide trailer airport FBO in either Gulfport or Biloxi, MS around June 2010 while I was there doing airwork for the BP oil spill cleanup. The FBO was pretty quiet at the time. His wife Megan was with him and from memory it was late evening and they were getting some sandwiches during either a fuel stop or on their way to the local casinos. All I could muster up to say to him was a "i like your work" to which he responded with a Thanks, lol. Might have been part of that same Bahama's fuel cell light trip that was referenced near the start of this podcast. Only later did I realize he was more than just a celebrity chartering a plane and in fact had a pilot's license at the time. Seems like an awesome person.
What a great site and interview with one of my favorite people. Yes Sir.....I'm now in my 70's and still love flying. My first solo in a 1965 C150, (N8641M), will always be lovingly remembered..full flap go arounds, full stall landings......it was awesome. Thanks for sharing. God bless ya.
Great interview. Craig never disappoints, even if it's a simple interview. He'll liven it up somehow. 24:25 My only regret is I was not on board that day! I can only imagine how hilarious that approach was.
I loved his late night show and always remembered when he mentioned what I now understand was his first XC solo. I’ve wondered what was going on with that since. Now that I’m getting my PPL I understand what he was talking about and the feeling he was expressing the little he talked about flying on the show.
This is amazing. Great interview! I've always loved Craig on the show and it's awsome to see this side of him. It's so hard to picture how comedians are off stage. One thing is true among all of the most successful comedians. They all are very intellectual and intelligent. Not just goofballs they got lucky. Wish I could fly with him and just talk pilot shit.
The Antonov (AN124) does still come into Goose Bay, it was just in last Thursday. It did however have to go missed and come back around due to weather.
Two friends sharing the crack - excellent vid. Had the joy of flying an army para display team all over Scotland for three years. Fantastic flying; the dew point's on a yo-yo & the copious amounts of IMC have a hard nutty center - all around! But on a clear day, you'll see 'Canada Lite by Disney', yet far, far better - they can't show the hordes of feral haggis sweeping across the Glensides, nor the joy of watching from above as Nessie's diet blows a row of bubbles along the Loch. Happy days : )
I’ve been a pilot 48 years, on my 1sr solo the instructor said… son… the plane will be 80kg lighter and it will climb quicker so things will happen faster than usual.. it was a Cherokee 140 and that was great advice from my instructor
You bring back some very good memories... my flight school trainer was Cherokee 140, flying out of Bremerton, Washington, in 1969. As some Jack Benny use to say... "Thanks for the Memories" but he could sing it better! 🤣
The weird thing about ISS flares (when the space station catches sun and glows in the dark sky) is because of its orbit it appears to make almost a 90 degree turn from where it comes over the horizon to where it disappears again. So if you're not prepared for it, all you see is this bright ass light making an arc over head for all of 5 minutes and its gone!
love the Craig Ferguson sense of humor, especially with the Scottish accent, a lot like the Irish accent but without the flashbacks and trauma associated with Catholic School and family discipline...
I always let a nervous passenger fly the plane once we were stabilized at altitude. Everyone, as in EVERYONE relaxed after a few min. They found out its not so difficult to fly a plane (me as a commercial pilot) I just said I was paid to know what to do if something went wrong....a monkey can fly a plane (except for take off and landing).
A few Jazz Dash 8-400 pilots I talked to who came up the industry ranks in the PC12 for Ornge Air Ambulance always said they miss the PC12. The Q400 is fun, but the PC12 is always their first.
WHEN YOU HAVE THOSE WHO ARE WATCHING YOUR BACK AND WILL BE WILLING TO HELP YOU WHEN THEY SEE YOU NEED IT. WE ALL HAVE THOSE DAYS AND EVENTS. AND THEY WANT TO SEE YOU SUCCESSFULLY DO THIS. WE GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO HELP SAVE YOUR HIDE. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING. NO BULLYING . THIS IS AVIATION. LIFE DEATH. NO NONSENSE.
Hey Craig, if you are ever in the vicinity of KPAO, stop on by - you can fly my Super Decathlon any time! Now that's a properly fun airplane that isn't so fun it's also intimidating!
My first name is old scottish orse for wise council my middle name is jay, my last name is old german? for sparrow and I don't have a plane, a license, ... . It makes me wonder if most pilots are involved in get thereitus from the getgo.
Hey! Bing Hitler, how bad is flying in Scotland? You can't fly here. You can't fly there. All comms must be PERFECT. Best excuse to become an American citizen.
The way he constantly looks at himself on the monitor instead of the person he’s talking to makes this so cringe as to be unwatchable. That and the unnecessary, ‘I’m a professional’ and try hard boom mics.
I love the fact that Craig is a pilot as well as one of the best talk show hosts ever. What a good soul.
My absolute favorite celebrity discussing my absolute favorite hobby and passion?! Is this what heaven looks like?
It’s nice to hear bright buddies chat. Also we miss Craig on late-night, but he’s happy so screw it !🐾🇩🇰❤
Craig rocks. Thanks for having him on!

It's nice to hear Ferguson talk with a like minded friend about stuff that he loves. This was a great conversation.

This is a perfect find, thank you for this.
Great interview. Two friends sitting down, talking about trips and friendship. I've always had great respect for Craig's intellect, sharp wit and how he overcame his fear of flying.
I know NOTHING about aviation, but this is still a blast!
I love this guy❤❤❤❤

Thank You for this interview.
I could listen to these guys all day

I love any thing with Craig. I think that he was not on here with his late late show here in Australia . He is so up front and very clever
Amazing comedian and great interviewer! Thanks for the podcast!
2 of my favorite things - wise ass comedy & aircraft stories. What could possibly go wrong....
I love that Craig flying was so traumatic, I loved the Kurt Russell interview💛💛💛 Great interview💛 😁😁😁
Excellent conversation. Could listen to Craig talk about anything right enough, but this had a great flow
Long time fan of Craig and flew my C 182RG for many years until I gave it up when my night vision gave me problems landing at night. Love this video.

So glad this showed up in my feed!! Very enjoyable.
Great interview. Craig never disappoints, even if it's a simple interview. He'll liven it up somehow. 24:25 My only regret is I was not on board that day! I can only imagine how hilarious that approach was.
I saw him at the Irvine Improv recently. One of the best stand up routines ever.
Love Craig Ferguson! Miss his show.
Maybe you can interview German actor Carlo Kitzlinger. He was a captain for Lufthansa.
Best late night host ever and great interview! Before you watch this 2nd time, put on a black T-shirt and Khaki pants and it's like you are there!
Craig is numero uno, great talk!
I loved his late night show and always remembered when he mentioned what I now understand was his first XC solo. I’ve wondered what was going on with that since. Now that I’m getting my PPL I understand what he was talking about and the feeling he was expressing the little he talked about flying on the show.
What an enjoyable and unexpected conversation... I loved the lucky underpants story!
35:00 I would always suggest this book: Stick and Rudder, by Wolfgang Langweisch.
EXCELENT Show!
Great stories!

I miss Craig so much on late night.
Always liked Craig (or Cregg, as the Americans insist on calling him) and this was a lovely way to spend an hour. Many thanks.
21:35 🤣😂🤣 "How many landings are you going to do...?"
Denmark is pretty amazing for vfr, my dad had a Kitfox when i was a kid, landing on the beach in the summer is some of my best memories.
Great interview
We need to get Craig to Alaska for some proper bush flying
The Antonov (AN124) does still come into Goose Bay, it was just in last Thursday. It did however have to go missed and come back around due to weather.
Love Craig

i want to hear the audio of him cracking wise with the controllers in the tower. lmao
Every Pilot remembers his/her first solo. Mine was in 1974 at Auburn Municipal Airport.
I’ve been a pilot 48 years, on my 1sr solo the instructor said… son… the plane will be 80kg lighter and it will climb quicker so things will happen faster than usual.. it was a Cherokee 140 and that was great advice from my instructor

Enjoyed the post very much….Aloha.
Five years? The panel has evolved into an unrecognizable beast in that amount of time.
Omg remembering my own first solo in YSBK in 2009 ….. at 7.7 hours 😮
Awesome!

Hey Craig buy a Piaggio Avanti P.180 Evo! You deserve a flying piece of art!
Bill Burr vs Craig Ferguson for funniest pilot in the world is probably a tie.
Good to see one of my heroes is still alive and well... and who are you interviewing 😅.
love the Craig Ferguson sense of humor, especially with the Scottish accent, a lot like the Irish accent but without the flashbacks and trauma associated with Catholic School and family discipline...

My dad would do that too for nervous passengers... it helps people who otherwise are nervous and can help those prone to air sickness not be.
This was really great and I am not involved in this world.
Thank you.
Oh how I wish I had the money to get started here in Scotland!!
A few Jazz Dash 8-400 pilots I talked to who came up the industry ranks in the PC12 for Ornge Air Ambulance always said they miss the PC12. The Q400 is fun, but the PC12 is always their first.
Didn't know he was a pilot
It is cool for both of you to not be too proud to always seek local knowledge and learn from more serious pilots.
took my check ride for ppl at Van Nuys airport 👍🏼 Mark Boss was the DPE
Hey. I’ve argued with that controller in Nassau too
I wonder if Craig has read Neil Peart's "Ghost Rider."
Hey Jason, great interview. It's been a long time. (from another Craig)
I didn't know that!
Read Ernest Gann's" Fate is the Hunter," if you want to smell the cockpit or count the stitches in the headliner.
I loved your connection with Craig, the only thing that would have made it complete is if you would have ended with an "awkward pause."

Great job, hope this podcast "takes off" 🤣🤣 nice surname too BTW. 👌🏼🇦🇺
Yeah I’m gonna need my Silver Air Hydro flask. Got anymore? 😂
Ferguson would be a hoot at a QB meeting. ( If you don't know what that is, you not a pilot and don't ask)
Craig !!!!! god dam you god dam you . save us

That's called hoar frost lads.
What happened to the segmented snake tattoo on Craigs right arm?
Thank god my hearing sucks and i heard Fight club...
Gotta get Bill Burr.
Is Burr one of us?
@@crawford323 He is a helicopter pilot.
@@_D_P_ Jeff Dunham as well. He built two of them.
N19SP. You're missing a digit.

What kind of plane does he own? Rv6? Surprised he has a kit plane.
My first name is old scottish
orse for wise council my middle name is jay, my last name is old german? for sparrow and I don't have a plane, a license, ... . It makes me wonder if most pilots are involved in get thereitus from the getgo.
10 dergrees
Why would anyone put pop filters ON TOP the SM7B’s built in pop filter?
They know zero about audio
Hey! Bing Hitler, how bad is flying in Scotland? You can't fly here. You can't fly there. All comms must be PERFECT. Best excuse to become an American citizen.
Faig Cergason
Love Craig, but those tattoos look really, really stupid.
The way he constantly looks at himself on the monitor instead of the person he’s talking to makes this so cringe as to be unwatchable. That and the unnecessary, ‘I’m a professional’ and try hard boom mics.
That’s it, pants are in the bin!
