I have been on the mission field for over twenty one years. I began studying the many versions of the Spanish Bible even before coming to the field. When the RVG became available I added it to my studies. It has always come out on top in terms of faithfulness to the purity of God's Word. For our ministry, we preach from and distribute only the Reina Valera Gómez revision by conviction that it is the best available to the Spanish speaking world. We want the best for the souls in our churches. We have now distributed over 153,000 RVG Bibles in S. America with many more requests coming in weekly. We can not keep up with the demand.
Have you compared the RVG 2010 VS Purificada 2024 from IBBG ? I bought 2 Purificadas and im confused wich on is better since both have errors here and there while comparing them with the KJV. Would you say that both Gomez and IBBG Purificada are good??

Praise the Lord for the careful work of many faithful soldiers of Christ who translated the Bible into the Spanish language from the preserved texts. We use the RVG in Chile for the same reason we use the KJV in English: It is an honest translation from the preserved texts translated by qualified individuals using proper translation methods. Several years ago I became aware of the Spanish Bible issue. At the time I had a 1960/KJV bilingual Bible, and I had noticed several corrupt readings in it as I read through it. Then by the grace of God I got a RVG and began studying it. Around the same time I got a 1602 purificada, and I would compare them. I would compare and study each one meticulously, and I would fast and pray, asking the Lord to give me wisdom. After years of studying, comparing, and praying, with the Lord confirming that the RVG is the best. I’m 100% confident that the Reina Valera Gomez is the purest, and most reliable Bible in Spanish.

That is false. The Royal Academy of Spain defines Verbo as the second person of the Trinity. The accusation that Verbo is a Catholic word is based in nothing. Latin church leaders were using Verbum as a name for Christ in the 2nd century. Way before the Catholic church was started.

I have the blessing to speak also french, so I solved it by reading it once whole in spanish, La Reina valera 1960, then I read it in other spanish versions, la biblia de las americas(LBLA), also a bit of DDHH(God speaks today), then also read it in english whole, the WEB(based on the ASV) now I am going across the ESV and also planing to finish the KJV when I finish this, I know it may take me some more time since is a bit of an ancient english, I also read a version in french La Biblia de Jerusalem, but found they changed many things, I didn't liked it, they took many liberties.
One of the reasons English Speaking American Pastors cannot say anything regarding the topic is because they cannot speak Spanish. But it is true, we cannot just give mission funds to anyone, missionaries have to prove themselves.

The RVG is not correct in certain areas and does have some Roman Catholic errors. The Valera 1602 Purificada is truly the perfect preserved word in Spanish, which labor was done by an independent Baptist church in Mexico.
Robert Breaker is a Ruckmanite and his Spanish is not good enough to qualify him as a good consultant on these matters. The Purificada is a word for word google translate style translation that is a disgrace to the Spanish language

The RV1602 Purificada is definitely faithful to the Received Text and beautiful! I am just not sure why the translators chose to translate "The Word" in John 1:1 (and everywhere else it applies to Jesus Christ) as "La Palabra". In Spanish some words are masculine and some are feminine. "La Palabra" (although it is the most accurate Spanish translation for "The Word") has a feminine connotation. The Reina Valera Gomez (RVG), like some other Reina Valera translations, translates "The Word" (referring to Jesus Christ) as "El Verbo" (The Verb), which has a masculine connotation in Spanish. Why would they follow the critical text????There are already *plenty* of modern critical text spanish bibles. RVG and Valera Purificada are the very few that want to follow the old protestant TR tradition. That's the whole point. If you want a critical spanish bible, you have the NIV, NASB, NLT and even modern reina valeras. RVG reads in 20th century spanish, and Valera Purificada reads in 16th - early17th
The "most recently discovered" and "oldest" manuscripts don't reveal anything new at all. The Vaticanus has been known since the 1400s, and Erasmus rejected it as full of errors. The Alexandrinus and Sinaiticus are full of those same errors, likely from early Gnostic heretics and Alexandrian philosophers who hated Jesus as God in the flesh. The Textus Receptus and Masoretic, as well ss some faithful Latin manuscripts, were used by God to preserve His Bible over the past 2000 years for His saints. The corrupt manuscripts of the critical text and modern bibles have produced horrendous fruit and mass apostasy, whereas the KJB and other good Majority text bibles have produced the Reformation and the great revivals of the 1700s to 1900s. Its obvious why the RVG rejects the newly discovered corrupt manuscripts because using them leads to dead churches and false converts. The Purificada was made by the church Maravillosa Gracia. This is the home church of Robert Breaker, the Ruckmanite “online evangelist.” No wonder the result is a poor translation. On the other hand, putting Humberto Gomez’s last name on the title of his translation is following the pattern of Spanish Bibles throughout history. To trash him on this is to reveal your disregard to the Spanish heritage of the Bible.

My opinion of the 1602P is that it’s a pretty good revision. But it’s inferior to the RVG. Textually it’s mostly pure, whereas the RVG is 100%. Linguistically it is deeply lacking, but the RVG is spot on! John 1 is one of the more popular places where the 1602P lacks.

I recomend the Reina Valera Gomez... have used it to start multiple churches in Mexico. No doubt about it, it's Gods word in Spanish.

The corrupt manuscripts of the critical text and modern bibles have produced horrendous fruit and mass apostasy, whereas the KJB and other good Majority text bibles have produced the Reformation and the great revivals of the 1700s to 1900s.
Its obvious why the RVG rejects the newly discovered corrupt manuscripts because using them leads to dead churches and false converts.

The 1602 purified is the best Spanish translation.
I'm sorry, but Mr Gomez cannot be trusted. He took full responsibility for translating his RVG.
The Purificada was made by the church Maravillosa Gracia. This is the home church of Robert Breaker, the Ruckmanite “online evangelist.” No wonder the result is a poor translation.
On the other hand, putting Humberto Gomez’s last name on the title of his translation is following the pattern of Spanish Bibles throughout history. To trash him on this is to reveal your disregard to the Spanish heritage of the Bible.

My native language is spanish and I just bought the bilingual Purificada, you would say that the Purificada reads so much readable and or sounds smoother??

My opinion of the 1602P is that it’s a pretty good revision. But it’s inferior to the RVG. Textually it’s mostly pure, whereas the RVG is 100%.
Linguistically it is deeply lacking, but the RVG is spot on!
John 1 is one of the more popular places where the 1602P lacks.
@@darrentownsend5710 I disagree.....Im a Native spanish speaker and bilingual, while comparing the RVG and Purificada vs KJB....both have many errors, ..I would say that Purificada has many more awkwardly translated words .....nonetheles....stays closer to KJV since doesnt change for its own convenience the words.
About Verbo vs Palabra, ...thats a radical change not a synonim. Just Because a "Royal" Spanish dictionary has as a 4th alternative that Verbo could refer to the 2nd person in the Trinity you think we are allow to change the words of scripture because a Mans Dictionary gives us that 4th alternative?? Wich should dictate the correct words and meanings....Gods Word or Mans Dictionaries ?
If we truly think that the KJB has the pure words of God in English.....then it should dictate that "Palabra" is the correct one, not another alternative made by men.
