as soon as I opened the new packaging my cat backed up and ran away. He won't eat it compared to the old packaging he loved. I've cancelled my sub to Kat kin bc of the new packaging.
Thanks for the video. I'm about to get the trial box to see how my boys will like it. Random question but does the food have a strong smell to it? I just hope they'll like it but let's see.. so far they've been on scrumbles and untamed and they like it. I like the idea of more fresh food and the higher meat content so let's see what they'll think of kat kin.
Baa smells, lamb always does. The oink one can - but Flo eats it so fast that it’s not an issue. The moo one is kind of between the two, mainly smells if I add a little hot water to melt it. Good luck!
It’s interesting to see how it’s changed - our cat that in the video would never touch it, will now have a mouthful occasionally. The other one just thinks the portions are too small 😂
I've been using Katkin for a couple of months now, finally narrowed it down that one of them will only eat Moo or Gobble, after discovering this the receipe changed and now she won't eat any of it. It's good that they're slowly bringing back a few of the old recipes. But, after speaking to a representative this will only be for a maximum of 6 months to help cats Transition onto the new stuff. I fully appreciate that they were making some changes to the way they prepare the food, which seems to me that now they've made it more automated and machine friendly to package. But I wish they had taken into consideration the some people have picky cats who don't like change, especially at the price we pay for it.
Yeah - totally agree - the recipe isn’t just about the ingredients, the way it’s cooked makes the texture change too. I’ve got some new pouch (KatKin Klassic?!) on order for when this runs out. And a few thoughts on the process!
Same thing has happened with our cats since the change. They loved it before, now they hardly touch it. We've actually just cancelled our subscription.
OK so when I rescued my beautiful cat Athena calico girl. She loved kat kin 1 year ago she was satisfied now since then I moved house and kat kin was complicated re freezer space. I've just got her the month supply and for the last 3 days of her having it she's practically refusing it!. My cat is very fussy she doesn't like the paste/pate texture. I don't know what to do now but hope she will start eating it. Why have kat Kin changed the recipe- before it was more minced now its paste.- we need answers
oo, why? I'm trying katkin and republic of cats! my katkin box comws tomorrow, but I don't know if I should try untamed... it seems more expensive overall so I'm skeptical of getting a trail box
@@cloudbasedbear it’s only about 90p per tin if you buy bulk and if your cat is around 4kg you’ll only need 2 tins per day :) I looked at republic of cats and they have rice and added sugars and salt 🤯
@@sam-hr7iq woah, I never looked in to the ingredients of that band 😃 who puts salt in cat food?! I guess I'll cancel the trial and go for an untamed trial, 90p per day is quite cheap compared to katkin! Thanks!!
@cloudbasedbear Think it depends on the cat breed. I have a 5 month old maine coon. Untamed recommended 3 tins a day which works out at £81.90 so more expensive. He also has blink which works put £80 a month
And untamed recommended dry food aswell as the tins for a balanced diet is what I seen on the tin last night, so overall my monthly cat food bill for 1 kitten wouod be over £100, so now I'm here looking for better cheaper alternatives in kat kin. Which I'll try next month. I'm hoping he likes as would save £30 a month
Cancelled my subscription and deleted my account after the terrible ideas they tried. Didnt even inform customers. What once was the best has just turn to crap now. Bad food and terrible customer service
The one cat that likes this food still likes the paste version, but does prefer the lumpy version, but yeah - choosing to swap recipes without warning just as loads of competitors came online was a terrible move - which food did you swap to?
@@snackplaylove in time of doing the change they sent me out nothing but cluck and that's the main one my cat didn't eat to start with. When I contacted them they didn't seem to care in the slightest I was left with food my cat didn't like. I have them a 2nd go when they brought back the the smaller pouch styles. But it cames in 2 days and most of the food was soft. So that was the final straw. I've changed to Bella and duke raw. But again this company hasn't been perfect either. Had a few that really smelt off. But after contacting them they refunded the trays that were bad. Delivered by DPD so quick delivery aswell.
My two absolutely hated the trays, one of them lost so much weight on them that the vet got quite concerned. Katkin are now having supply issues with the Moo in pouches and I was not able to get enough other pouches to fill a delivery from December so I am back to trying other cat foods with varying success
@@Om-nom-nomigon I’ve changed to something called scrumbles. It is biscuits but high quality. I put all 3 branded foods down over the space of a week and I let my cat decide what she wanted to eat. She chose the biscuits so that’s what we get now. We have a water fountain as she drinks a lot now. I recommend having a look at scrumbles.
not sure how your vegetarian partner has anything to do with what the cats eat

Our cat while will still eat we've certainly seen a massive reduction in the amount of it he will eat and is going for his dry most of the time now.

Any "new recipe" or "new improved flavour" is company speak for "we've changed something to make it cheaper for us to manufacture" unfortunately

Just ordered some so let's hope she likes it!
Did you get a mix of trays and pouches? That’s probably the best way to go.
I wonder why defrost the ice packs
Just keeps the fridge cool for free :)

I'm debating to get this or Lily's. Katkin is a better quality meat I've researched
Do both free trials - choose whichever suits your cats the best. About time for another cat update video I guess - one of ours still loving them.
I wouldn't if you know your cat is fussy and doesn't like paste
@@snackplayloveyour video is great!
Geez fussy isn't the word. Tried literally every brand.... ONLY Applaws he'll eat. Happy as its fresh meat
The new stuff is terrible, like a slurry.
