Sir i have doubt in government company question,
XYZ company's share capital held by govt. of IND 20%,
state governments (TN and rajasthan) 10% and 10%,
LIC of IND(public institution) 8%,
ABC Ltd.(owned by govt. Co.) 15%
State whether XYZ co. Is govt. Company?
For this i answered in my exam that XYZ company is government company as of 63% held by govt and it's govts company and institute but the ICAI put wrong in conclusion and analysis, so i do verify the suggested answers in other channel because of icai haven't issued official suggested answer in that i got such XYZ isn't a govt. Company due to the govt. Of india hold 20% and states totaly 20% so which less than 51% and they said government should directly hold not the government Company to hold
I have doubt in the provison that "subsidiary of govt. Company is also considered as a government company", then why govt. Have to directly control the paid share capital to say that it is a government company?
Sir please i kindly request you to clarify this
@@Junereniya._67 It's a controversial question with different interpretations. As per definition it's not a government company because definition says CG or SG must hold. However in substance government only controls this company but as per law answer is different.
