A delightful story! This is one of the people who inspired me to make keyless Irish flutes

Wow, what a phenomenal documentary! Patrick seems so humble, curious, and dedicated to the craft. The adoration (and music) of his all star customers speaks volumes. Thanks for posting this.

Already watched this about a dozen times when it was still on another platform (I forgot the name). Absolute must-see for every flute maker, fan of Irish music or musician in general IMHO. 😊
Thanks for making it available on TH-cam! Everyone should see this. It was a huge inspiration for me when I tried to get into flute making. I never got very far. Only tried to make a few cheap practice flutes but that played nicely. But then the 'rona struck and shipping any packages became insanely expensive so I stopped.

What a great documentary. My first wooden keyed flute was a German 19 th c flute with the sweetest sound . But it was incredibly sharp . And got sharper as the session went on . Other musicians would try to retune their instruments thinking it was them . I could play along in D to a tune that was being sung or played in E !

Well I looked up Keymaster and this video popped up and coincidentally I’ve been trying to teach myself how to play the tin whistle. I got discouraged because I think maybe my whistle sucks. Does he take on apprenticeships? Lol

not exactly, but if you're still interested in whistle I highly recommend my friend and excellent DP's website for learning Irish whistle: www.blaynechastain.com/plans/
