I love my Nissan Frontier a lot. If you follow the maintenance schedule everything should go well. There are not many up for resale so that suggested to me that they can't be that bad. I'm sure glad I did.
I have a 2015 Pro4.. best mid size truck ever.. the only issue I had was the cam shaft sensors ..changed myself no more problems .. already put 110K miles … just keep the reg. Maintenance … Paid around $25K a new one is around $47K!! Same model😮
Great job. I have any 2011 Nissan Frontier v6 going to change out PCV and hose. Question, did you use regular or deep socket & is it regular straight wrench or special? Thanks
Thanks! I used a "specilaty' ratchet with multiple bends which allowed me to work around everything. The socket wasn't a deep socket from what I recall. I can't remember the socket size but you'll just have to find one that fits your new PCV valve. Thanks for watching!!
@@HawksDIY Great, thanks for the reply. Very limited space & wasn't sure if a regular ratchet would work. I will look into the ratchet & believe my local Harbor Freight carries a similar. Thanks and wish me luck ...lol
Was your Nissan idling rough when at a stop light ? I have had the crankcase sensor and camshaft sensors replaced but occasionally still idles rough. You can watch the voltage meter drop a bit when it does, but smooths back out. Been doing this for a while. Maybe PCV valve then?
No, I haven't experienced rough idle. A voltage meter will naturally drop with a rough idle or an engine struggling to run. A PCV valve merely ventilates the crankcase by recirclulating the gas vapors that did not combust on initial combustion in the piston chamber. Thanks for watching!
@@Davy-pj8mu , first off, the heater core and fan blower is inside the cab. Have you checked the coolant level in your radiator and overflow tank? Any leaks? Your heater core will struggle to heat the cab if the coolant level is severly low and if your coolant is low your engine will run hot. Also, a bad thermostat can affect the heater core. Hope this helps!
Yes, the PCV valve is in a bad location, but I didn't have to mess with the heater core. I used a special socket wrench that adapted to the horrible angles. I hope you were able to get it fixed! Thanks for watching! 👍
Spent 3 hours trying to find a video like yours and finally found it. thanks sir, new subscriber

The price of vehicles these days is outrageous so I'm happy my Frontier was affordable and reliable!!
Thanks very much for your suggestion on changing approximately every 30,000 miles. Great idea.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Bro I just got you to 60 keep up the grate work love the vids
Thanks! I have some great projects coming for 2024! I really appreciate your support. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks it's really helpful we may have the same problem

I'm thinking about getting a Frontier. What do you think of yours? Have you had a good experience with it?
Overall I have no complaints. It's been a good truck! Mine is an older model so I'm sure they've changed quite a bit over the years.

2006 Frontier here and have 238,000 miles. With proper maintenance it’s still running good! 🍀
Hello again, did you use 45 our 90 degree bent needle nose pliers?
I think those were 45 degree pliers. Just enough bend to get around the corner. :)

@@supercraig2009 , Yeah it's pretty tight area to work that's why I used that ratchet. You'll figure it out! lol Good luck! :)
@@HawksDIY I refuse to pay someone to do the job, so you bet I will figure it out...take a deep breath & get-r-done 👍

Did you do valve cover gaskets when you did plugs ?
No, I didn't wanna do more work than necessary. lol Thanks for watching!
@@HooksetHawk your welcome, I just did my spark plugs, PCV valve valve covers where still in great shape so I just left them as is.
thank you sir very usefull

How much mileage did you have when you did this
I think it was around 50,000 miles. Thanks for watching! :)
I need help bad got no heat in cab😊
Ain't nothing neater than a heater! Sounds like your heater core went out. That's where I'd start looking. Good luck!
@HawksDIY well I got heat under hood can't get it in cab

It's your coolant that has air in the system. Get all the air out and your good to go. I do mine once before every winter and it works great.
Whats that black box on your battery cable
That's just a plastic battery terminal cover. Thanks for watching! :)
@HawksDIY how long you let it run before park on hill
@HawksDIY if that box goes bad it's expensive to replace
It would be more helpful if I could see how to do that,I'm just guessing how watching this video.
I couldn't get the camera in the tight spot where the pcv valve is located. Thanks for watching! 👍
It’s not that easy! The pcv valve is almost impossible to get too. I had to take off the heater core inlet and outlet to reach it.
