That’s what I hated about Odyssey. If you try to assassinate someone a higher level then you it doesn’t insta kill, it takes a portion of their health. Like wtf, that just defeats the whole purpose of the assassination, to take an enemy down quickly that otherwise would’ve taken me 5 mins in direct combat.

Stealth, history, someone that enters animus to experience the memories of his ancestor (and that's not true for the games after Desmond's death except Layla because basim is literally himself) and a group of hooded guys that kills evil people, seems that it fits pretty much in AC Odyssey (yes, even the assassins part, Darius in the dlc is remembered as an assassin in the untouchable second game), this game just let you be more than a hooded guy doing only silent takedowns.
Have you considered these "everyone" being different groups? I haven't complained that all AC games are the same. I have complained that they went to a wrong direction with the latest ones.

I said the same about ac, but if you actually play it, it is extremely fun. It has such a vibe, open world greek mythology with political problems and you gotta take out the hidden people controlling the regions as well as defeating the strongest creatures and mercenaries And the muisc and soundtracks are stunning, in every moment and actions of the game the soundtrack will change, if riding a horse in a beautiful forest, it will change to a peaceful muisc, in fights, it will cycle to an intense ost. And dont even get me started on the side missions. They are great, showing betrayal, myths, shocks, and insane forshadowings. This game is extremely filled with content. Playing their dlcs will make you feel like as if you were playing god of war The main story is great and very enjoyable. But the same cannot be said with valhalla

Actually not. If you have played the DLC Darius was a old man with hidden blade worn like eivor(over the wrist not under) He was a assassin from younger age in Persia. I would want to see a sequel of Darius. It would really make sens hiw it will connect with odessy.

I swear, I’m a history nerd, every time I had a topic to study at school, an AC game dropped in that exact period the year before. From AC Brotherhood, AC3, AC Unity, AC Origins/Odyssey

Got the platinum for this bad boy last week. It was fun, the story was ok, the gameplay is fun, the open world is huge, seeing some mythological creatures was awesome, had no idea they were in the game. It’s a good game overall, don’t see why people hate it.
I don’t know man, people talk about stealthiness in the game, but I maxed out the Assassin dmg tree and do literally everything in the game through assassination
Really depends on what you choose to play as in this game you can build the damage of all three so as long as you choose what you want to be in the beginning an stick to upgrading your damage and recovery time of your abilities you kinda become OP as ever I feel the best thing about this game is the fact you get to choose if you want to become an archer assassin or warrior I mean everyone gets sick and tired of being forced to sneak in a game because that’s the only way to get thru the game some people like to use timing with archery or just have fun splattering people the decision between them makes the game feel more real when you can hit someone with an arrow, then slice them with your sword or when it gets to much just run hide and assassinate
The one thing I just didn’t like about Odyssey and Orgins was its Lvl based and I had to grind out more of the side quests than the main just to continue the main Orgins was a lil better at it but Odyssey was bad with it I know theirs a setting where u can dummy the lvls down but I wish u can turn it off completely
Just do the side quests, its literally not that hard. After you kill your first mercenary is the only time you need to do any real grinding. But if you dont take your time doing side quests, conquest battles, and other stuff and just wanna power through the story then you are gonna suffer. Lol. At first I didnt like it, but then eventually I loved it because it basically told me to slow down and enjoy Ancient Greece and all it had to offer. By the time I finished my very first playthrough without doing dlc and season pass content to platinum it, I was literally level 91
The title is true tho. I wouldn't have even thought that Odyssey was an Assassin's Creed game. It is l an amazin greek adventure game, but not an AC. You literally need a DLC to evem see a hidden blade.

I don’t understand the people that defend this as being a great game but a bad assassins creed game. YOU ARE WRONG!!!! Reasons on why this is a bad game in general; 1. No player agency with parkour. Idk why my guy didn’t just leap off the building. There is no need even in the start of the game to do anything else then launch yourself off objects because there IS NO FALL DAMAGE WTF!!!! 2. Bad and stupid levelling systems only to promote micro transactions 3. The actual story of this game is extremely poor, not including the fact it shits all over AC Lore, the story is uncompelling and sloppy at very best. 4. It locks you out of combat if the enemy is too higher a level. So you can’t even do a grinding kill - Origins had this but only for hidden blade assassinations I’m pretty sure it allowed you to kill anyone (I mean it would be near impossible as they’d one hit you but) this game literally locks you out of that again to promote micro transactions. 5. There is little to no development of characters in terms of the choices you make. The choices you make are literally the defining points and not the consequences of your actions. 6. Did I mention the story is fucking dumb, you get to the end and Cassandra literally is still alive cause of the POE. Again stupid. 7. The combat is boring, feels worse then origins and like a complete downgrade. 8. It looks graphically worse then Unity… that’s saying something 9. Every side mission is uninspiring and a fetch quest 10. The parkour itself is worse then every other AC game not even functioning properly when needed. 11. The map itself is barren and empty. Void of anything fun or good to do except crappy missions or mindlessly press A/X and forward. So the traversal mechanics and the setting do not bode well at all. If you think this game is good, fair play too you. I hope you had fun with it and that you enjoy it for years too come. That being said I really don’t understand how you could have any type of enjoyment with this game. Also you must dislike all the other games in the series.

It’s not a bad game. I genuinely had fun with Odyssey and did a few playthroughs of the story. I do understand why people call it a bad AC game because it contains little lore related to the series with the exception of some Isu stuff and Kassandra’s vision when she touches the pyramid (not counting the DLCs). Personally I think Ubisoft just saw the potential of making a game in Ancient Greece and chose AC as the series they would try it with (even if it doesn’t make sense with the other games in the series). But hey, I still think they made a good game regardless.
You can do both. You can be a crazy brute, or be an assassin. Why not have both? I enjoy being able to have that option. I'm a deadly assassin, and a straight bad ass all in one game. Fuck yeah.
Dude right ever since origins and syndicate the franchise has kinda went down for me. The level based system and change of combat controls really took away from the experience of the story and atmosphere.

I've been playing it recently. My only issue is the hella big level jump from finding the sibling's mother to the next set of quests. It's like 23 to 31.
I LOVE ac Odyssey dont get me wrong i have 350 hours in the game and sure the "its a great game but a bad ac game" wolds a lot of truth at least the stealth system WORKS perfectly fine which is more than can be said about ac Valhalla
Facts. Literally if one guard spots you in an isolated area, somehow the WHOLE FORT instantly knows you're there. At least with Odyssey, you can kill stragglers before shit escalates and gets out of hand
The only two Assassins Creed games I play now is Odyssey and Valhalla I really enjoy them both I’ve never listened to others complain about them they’re the ones who like to complete a game in a couple of days

For those saying the game is bad for an assassins creed game, its actually more historically accurate for the game to be like it is. The assassins creed has existed for 1000 years when started by aya and bayek in origins. Kassandra / alexios are in 431 bc, move than 1000 years before the assassins. Not only that, the protagonist is a mercanary, a killer for hire, which makes more sense for them to not be stealth assassins. Get the job done and get paid, simple.
I miss when assassin's creed wasn't about how big Ubisoft can make the fuckin map. Or how overpowered you can get your character's skills and abilities. How did we go from Desmond Miles to being literal demigods...
I got three words for you: Greed, laziness and trends. Ubisoft tends to listen to people that are not only new to a franchise, but also complying for the needs of those new people who did nothing but complaining about the games being the same and other bs, instead of the OG fans that never complained about anything and were here from the start and allowed ubisoft to prosper and reach heights. Another cause for this was the fact that the original devs of ac were replaced by young, inexperienced and down right dumb people (look at the CEO), that follow gaming trends and instead of giving us unique and polished games, the give us generic copy paste and incomplete games full of useless garbage and microtransactions, god awful story and characters and slap the ac title on top of them.
Bruh the Isu and supernatural elements have literally existed since the first AC so your logic is flawed. All of the assassins are unnatural watered down Isu hybrids, and pieces of eden like the Apple always existed and done crazy shit. Odyssey is literally just playing as a person with pure hybrid genetics and a piece of eden at all times (The Spear)
This game is absolutely legendary. I’m biased bc I study ancient greece and my professor uses gameplay in class bc of the sheer accuracy. I could see how people would get bored or lose interest but to me this is the greatest game to ever exist.

You don't have to play it like that. You can choose not to use all these glitches and OP mechanics. Pick the hardest dificulty, build warrior + assassin and go fight melee combat. 100% better gameplay IMO

I said the same about ac, but if you actually play it, it is extremely fun. It has such a vibe, open world greek mythology with political problems and you gotta take out the hidden people controlling the regions as well as defeating the strongest creatures and mercenaries
And the muisc and soundtracks are stunning, in every moment and actions of the game the soundtrack will change, if riding a horse in a beautiful forest, it will change to a peaceful muisc, in fights, it will cycle to an intense ost. And dont even get me started on the side missions. They are great, showing betrayal, myths, shocks, and insane forshadowings.
This game is extremely filled with content. Playing their dlcs will make you feel like as if you were playing god of war
The main story is great and very enjoyable. But the same cannot be said with valhalla

love that they made the level cap 100 cuz I'm origins , I got to level 40 before finishing the main story line by doing all the side quest .
Got the platinum for this bad boy last week. It was fun, the story was ok, the gameplay is fun, the open world is huge, seeing some mythological creatures was awesome, had no idea they were in the game. It’s a good game overall, don’t see why people hate it.

I don’t know man, people talk about stealthiness in the game, but I maxed out the Assassin dmg tree and do literally everything in the game through assassination
Really depends on what you choose to play as in this game you can build the damage of all three so as long as you choose what you want to be in the beginning an stick to upgrading your damage and recovery time of your abilities you kinda become OP as ever
I feel the best thing about this game is the fact you get to choose if you want to become an archer assassin or warrior
I mean everyone gets sick and tired of being forced to sneak in a game because that’s the only way to get thru the game some people like to use timing with archery or just have fun splattering people the decision between them makes the game feel more real when you can hit someone with an arrow, then slice them with your sword or when it gets to much just run hide and assassinate

The one thing I just didn’t like about Odyssey and Orgins was its Lvl based and I had to grind out more of the side quests than the main just to continue the main

I know theirs a setting where u can dummy the lvls down but I wish u can turn it off completely
Just do the side quests, its literally not that hard. After you kill your first mercenary is the only time you need to do any real grinding. But if you dont take your time doing side quests, conquest battles, and other stuff and just wanna power through the story then you are gonna suffer. Lol. At first I didnt like it, but then eventually I loved it because it basically told me to slow down and enjoy Ancient Greece and all it had to offer.
By the time I finished my very first playthrough without doing dlc and season pass content to platinum it, I was literally level 91

Reasons on why this is a bad game in general;
1. No player agency with parkour. Idk why my guy didn’t just leap off the building. There is no need even in the start of the game to do anything else then launch yourself off objects because there IS NO FALL DAMAGE WTF!!!!
2. Bad and stupid levelling systems only to promote micro transactions
3. The actual story of this game is extremely poor, not including the fact it shits all over AC Lore, the story is uncompelling and sloppy at very best.
4. It locks you out of combat if the enemy is too higher a level. So you can’t even do a grinding kill - Origins had this but only for hidden blade assassinations I’m pretty sure it allowed you to kill anyone (I mean it would be near impossible as they’d one hit you but) this game literally locks you out of that again to promote micro transactions.
5. There is little to no development of characters in terms of the choices you make. The choices you make are literally the defining points and not the consequences of your actions.
6. Did I mention the story is fucking dumb, you get to the end and Cassandra literally is still alive cause of the POE. Again stupid.
7. The combat is boring, feels worse then origins and like a complete downgrade.
8. It looks graphically worse then Unity… that’s saying something
9. Every side mission is uninspiring and a fetch quest
10. The parkour itself is worse then every other AC game not even functioning properly when needed.
11. The map itself is barren and empty. Void of anything fun or good to do except crappy missions or mindlessly press A/X and forward. So the traversal mechanics and the setting do not bode well at all.
If you think this game is good, fair play too you. I hope you had fun with it and that you enjoy it for years too come. That being said I really don’t understand how you could have any type of enjoyment with this game. Also you must dislike all the other games in the series.

Legit every choice you make in Odyssey has weight to it and matters, from side quests to main quests. Some side quests could involve you making a bad judgement call and fucking up the outcome, and main quest choices lead to wether you get a good or bad ending

It’s not a bad game. I genuinely had fun with Odyssey and did a few playthroughs of the story. I do understand why people call it a bad AC game because it contains little lore related to the series with the exception of some Isu stuff and Kassandra’s vision when she touches the pyramid (not counting the DLCs). Personally I think Ubisoft just saw the potential of making a game in Ancient Greece and chose AC as the series they would try it with (even if it doesn’t make sense with the other games in the series). But hey, I still think they made a good game regardless.

I've been playing it recently. My only issue is the hella big level jump from finding the sibling's mother to the next set of quests. It's like 23 to 31.

I LOVE ac Odyssey dont get me wrong i have 350 hours in the game and sure the "its a great game but a bad ac game" wolds a lot of truth at least the stealth system WORKS perfectly fine which is more than can be said about ac Valhalla
Facts. Literally if one guard spots you in an isolated area, somehow the WHOLE FORT instantly knows you're there. At least with Odyssey, you can kill stragglers before shit escalates and gets out of hand

For those saying the game is bad for an assassins creed game, its actually more historically accurate for the game to be like it is. The assassins creed has existed for 1000 years when started by aya and bayek in origins. Kassandra / alexios are in 431 bc, move than 1000 years before the assassins. Not only that, the protagonist is a mercanary, a killer for hire, which makes more sense for them to not be stealth assassins. Get the job done and get paid, simple.
I miss when assassin's creed wasn't about how big Ubisoft can make the fuckin map. Or how overpowered you can get your character's skills and abilities. How did we go from Desmond Miles to being literal demigods...
I got three words for you: Greed, laziness and trends.
Ubisoft tends to listen to people that are not only new to a franchise, but also complying for the needs of those new people who did nothing but complaining about the games being the same and other bs, instead of the OG fans that never complained about anything and were here from the start and allowed ubisoft to prosper and reach heights. Another cause for this was the fact that the original devs of ac were replaced by young, inexperienced and down right dumb people (look at the CEO), that follow gaming trends and instead of giving us unique and polished games, the give us generic copy paste and incomplete games full of useless garbage and microtransactions, god awful story and characters and slap the ac title on top of them.
Bruh the Isu and supernatural elements have literally existed since the first AC so your logic is flawed. All of the assassins are unnatural watered down Isu hybrids, and pieces of eden like the Apple always existed and done crazy shit.
Odyssey is literally just playing as a person with pure hybrid genetics and a piece of eden at all times (The Spear)
