- Facebook marketplace strikes again! Found these 37x13x16 Interco Super Swamper Bagger Tires on -38 offset steel wheels. They are 11 years old and defintely show signs of rock rash and wear but have great tread left. I want to buy a set of oem height springs eventually but I got impatient and broke out the angle grinder.
It looks beautiful as is! Such a rat look, I love it! That’s my favorite Land Cruiser generation. One day I’ll own one and swap the body on top of an 80 series frame.
Thanks man! Yeah that’s exactly what I’m contemplating!
It's safe to say you are now officially "An experienced metal worker". Keep the rust, looks official.
lol yeah this was my certification qualification🤣I’m actually contemplating not doing the Ute chop now just because I’m falling in love with the rust😂
I don’t know if comedy was your intent, but I think it’s f***ing hilarious that most 60 series build vids are someone taking a turd and turning it into a diamond. You’re taking a turd and seeing if you can put 37s and a diesel in it.
Haha yeah comedians my strong suit but you’re 100% accurate in your assessment. Every post or video I see about 60/62 series is about restoring it which is really cool. But I don’t have access to a garage sufficient enough for restoring this one. Also some have commented wanting to see a budget build and I think it’ll be fun!
Where are you going to source stock springs? Or just some takeoffs?
Plastic garbage can will make some perfect wheel wells for you, or plastic wheel wells out of a early to mid 80s ford pickup
Not a bad idea🤠 thanks!
You can almost forget about any articulation, you will rub. I take it this isn’t your daily driver. Lol 😂
There was about 2-3 inches of articulation available before the bumpstops hit because the springs are so sagged 😄 taking it out on trails tommorow and will be uploading a video showing. And no, definitely not a daily driver 🤣🤣🤣
