Some notes and thoughts: 0:45 Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins? 2:03 Various collectibles like Star Coins also allow you to unlock extra content, like levels and Toad Houses, and often require puzzles to obtain as well. 2:30 The Bowser Jr. fights do have their merits, but the Koopaling fights also had plenty of gimmicks (I especially enjoyed the 2nd Iggy bossfight and 2nd Bowser Jr. bossfight of NSMBWii for that reason) and they basically just crammed a bunch of Koopaling fight ideas into the few Bowser Jr. had in this game. They could have done so much more in Wonder with boss creativity, like in the original New Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. 5:13 The Spin Drill was an item in Super Mario Galaxy 2. 5:17 The developers have stated in a Game Informer interview that the Bubble Flower was heavily based on the abilities of the Blue Bubble Baby Yoshi from NSMBU. 8:13 They had a similar, albeit different enemy in NSMB called the Kab-omb. 8:31 There were a decent number of minigames in previous 2D Mario titles, but Wonder really takes the cake in terms of new level types. 9:21 I think there are some Wonder Effects that are tied to timers.
Oh That’s why I remember they’re being a drill power up in Galaxy two! And now that you mention it, I do remember the bubble Yoshi from that game, now I remember it’s not original :(
time really flies, and mario wonder is still amazing!! Sure, the bosses are meh and the final boss to some might be underwhelming but to me it was amazing, like holy shit that final boss music slaps, just saying 😄
