I remember back in 2010, there was a massive snowstorm that hit us in Scotland that was christened "the beast from the east". I was on the bus to go see my gf at the time and we were winding through quiet country roads at night while an unrelenting blizzard was happening. Naturally, as all good men should do during a night blizzard, i put on Winter Madness. Never experienced something so damn epic in my life since. It was one of those rare moments in life when the stars align just for you.
That’s beautiful, many metal songs throughout the years have given me that sort of perfect alignment of appreciation and musical perfection in a specific moment.
Jari PLEASE.. Everyone wants IMMEMORIAL remaster... it would only have to be the 4 songs of course excluding Sadness and Hate. It would be a genius incentive for a new crowdfunder for old time fans. Come on jari.

Other "more modern ones": Takamiy, Janne da Arc, Sky Wings, Light Bringer, Area51, DELUHI, Matenrou Opera, Metis Gretel, Versailles, Far East Dizain... But they are all bands that vary a lot, and none of them are similar to Wintersun. With the more oriental folk style, When Time Fades Away style, you can try "Ningen Isu" and "Onmyouza", or lighter ones like "Kagrra", "D" and "yagakki band"
What trully blows my mind is that right after one of the most complex, epic and hard guitar solo, the song naturally transition into an amazing kick-ass riff at 6:37. It's a prime exemple of how good Jari was ( and still is) at structure and composition.
The intro is very beautiful.The song never cease to amaze me with the super macnificient guitar solo.Jari , you are forever my number one favorite metal musician.
The wintersun band itself, has taken a step in the life of music and consciousness. These works are beautiful, I have been following their work since I was a child. These music are usually soothing, hypnotic, and empowering to solve problems. All respect from Hungary!

I didn't even know this intro existed! This is bloody amazing honestly, what an incredible song, I totally forgot how insane your debut is because I haven't listened to it for a while. Love the raw Wintersun sound more than anything, too much orchestral stuff drowns out everything else in my opinion, this is why I think the debut album is the best.

@@NoelVillanuevaMadrid Sons of Winter and Stars and Time were both in this style, so are The Way Of The Fire and the other new song Storm with all the fast scaleruns that was first played a year ago or something. They even said that the the production and style of the songs of The Forest Seasons got an album of their own, because they wouldn't fit in with the "main" Wintersun style of the debut, Time I and Time II. A better saying would be that they never left this style, but released a separate album for the Forest Seasons in another style.

He was asked this during the last crowdfunding, and said that he doesn't have the individual tracks for the first album, and due to some reason, possibly having something to do with copyright, he is not able to get them either, so it is unlikely they'll ever be released to the public.

In terms of epicness i would say painkiller solo by priest is really close one
Into the Mouth of Hell We March or Like Like to Flies by Trivium both have solos combating this one imo

Was playing in the Rime of the Frost Maiden adventure for Dungeons and Dragons and it reminded me of this album I bought in college.
