According to leaks found in other games running on Source 2, Valve is currently developing a Half Life VR game. More like a prequel to HL2 than HL3, but yes, it seems like a new Half Life will be releasing for VR.

Just wait until boneworks those controllers and headset will be worth it.
Boneworks is cool and all, but there are tons of games that really make the Index shine.

@@nemjef121 that's not true. Resolution means nothing for VR. It's more about the PPD, FOV, lens design, and display tech. Most modern VR kits are not blurry or have any SDE.

The controllers would probably not be able handle that much training.
Not really, you can't clasp your hands, only do one handed sign maybe. Some sort of glove controllers would be necessary.
Or you can do instant transmission in Dragon Ball VR

Well if you like time crisis than artika 1 is what you are looking for. HLVR is confirmed and should be coming soon (possibly will be the game that valve said they will announce this year), REVR is a Sony exclusive, it's probably not ever coming to PC.
Something I never thought, that VR hardware would begin to eclipse the software. Back in the day of tv size headsets, always thought it would be the other way...

You dont need an Index to play Half Life: Alyx. Oculus, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets are compatible with it.
@@goog-p7p Yeah I;m stuck between the Oculus Quest and a Link cable, or an Oculus Rift S. Though with the link cable it seems Quest is the best of both worlds.

@@NocturnalToothbrush the quest vs rift s decision is pretty tough, it mainly comes down to what you want out of it and what you'd use it for. if you mainly want to play pcvr games go with the rift s. if you want the portability of the quest and can see yourself using it a lot, and don't mind the lower refresh rate and slight compression on PCVR games, then go with the quest.

Why in all the reviews of different helmets never talk about whether it is possible to use this helmet with glasses? Is it possible to use this helmet with glasses?
I have diopter glasses and I am currently using an Oculus S helmet, which has no problem with glasses.
How is it with the Valve Index helmet?
I believe so, I think I saw one of the guys in one of the Boneworks demo using glasses while wearing the headset. Not too sure though.

One public question i meet al the min requiremtns but the GPU. I currently will be trying to run this beautifull device on a GE62VR 6R Apache pro that comes with a 6gb GTX 1060. With the compatibility app it says that i should get a better GPU. does someone knows if this grapic card will be able to run properly, i mean i do not ask the top resolution but at least being able to use it. Should i even consider buying this product since i dont want to change my laptop, cause i dont even know how to upgrade my graphic card. or should i wait for the vive cosmos which i believe with the test app i will be able to run it properly.
i just noticed that behind the face piece, the main tether seems to be removable. so maybe the expansion bay is for an internal battery with mobile processing and bluetooth for mobile vr?
No and no. The frunk is just a usb3 connection for modders, nothing has come out yet to utilize the space.
Who else is here after Half-Life: Alyx? I'm sure we gonna get all those individual fingers to be put to use.. lol

Did you really say that moondust and hand labs are the main uses for the index controllers. Tons of developers have added index support within the past few days/ this last week

The best headset I ever tried by a huge margin and i have tried most of them. Easily worth the 1000$ in comparison to other headsets.
So are you saying that it works with any base stations? You mention the 'old' base stations, but the index is new. Can you clarify that please?

@Ryluri white This is high end VR for enthusiast. For most an Oculus Rift model will be perfectly fine.
Now announce Half Life 3 built around this headset, and VR finally has its Killer App.
Valve already announced that one of their three AAA VR games will be announced and it's already confirmed they have been developing HLVR for many years. Very possible we'll see HLVR this year.
I have an Odyssey. Is the higher FoV and refresh rate wort the upgrade?

Depends on you. If you are alright with spending $1000 bucks then yeah. The higher resolution makes it so you can read stuff and the controllers are true next gen. If you need to save up for a while for it then it is 100% your call. Determine it for yourself.

I have the ROG Zephyrus S GX701. Does anyone know if my laptop has VirtualLink so that I can use it with my laptop?
Virtual Link is a cancelled project. Your ZephGX701 is VR ready, but don't expect to be able to crank the settings, laptops are not great for VR, have tons of inherent thermal throttling issues and do not provide the best experience if you want to crank settings and do SSing.

How do you like it? I have the option to buy mine now but I'm looking into every possible thing before I do.
Sinable it is definitely worth it but I broke one of my controllers when trying to adjust the hand size because I didn’t look at the instructions and my base stations still won’t set up

Preflections the base stations track each other but not the headset and controllers

Easily the best VR package for the price. I can see other VR owners ditching their controllers for these controllers.
Got my index controllers in today and I can already say my Vive wands will probably never get touched again...unless I use them for feet tracking that is.
It cost 400,000$ to use this headset... for 12 seconds.

No, that's overkill 1 should be more than sufficient
SLI is a dead technology that pretty much hasn't existed for more than 5 years. VR can only use one GPU, as does all games. You can use a 1070 and 144fpos on a lot of VR games, just need a decent modern CPU
More companies need to follow oculus towards the path of stand alone headsets
Then we will be stuck with shitty mobile processing hardware. Quest is cool, but it's not even remotely like a legit PCVR kit.

It does, but they are on pre-order currently.

I could only justify the price personally, if it was wireless.
A 802.11ay (60ghz) kit would cost you another $200-$300 and the Index is expensive enough for even the enthusiasts. Valve is working on a wireless kit for it, just be patient, the Index just shipped out this week.

Well soon there will be a game that is called boneworks that is coming out this year pretty soon that has full finger tracking and even has an insane amount of detail in how the enemies interact with different weapons
These are not external sensors just laser markers. The sensors are in the HMD. Do your research...

@@istvanjuhasz7621 Lighthouse tracking uses spinning motors to beam lasers into the room. The basestations don't require a data cable to be connected to your computer, like the OG Rift camera tracking did.

But I think the Index is the best overall package
