Day Hiking in Colorado: The Arapaho National Forest

I visited Colorado this August of 2019 and hiked the Cascade Creek Trail past Monarch Lake, Crater Lake, and Mirror Lake in the Arapaho National Forest. The hike took us around 7 hours to complete. The area is absolutely beautiful and this trail is heavily trafficked, so I suggest getting there early for parking! Also, make sure to bring some bug spray, the mosquitos were hungry! You should come hike more of Colorado after the AT! I'm planning on doing the CT and maybe all of the 14ers but I'm just a day hiker and weekend warrior right now. I think I will like thru hiking more than doing 14ers.

I'm from Co. Have never done that hike. But I was shocked because that Lake was not that gorgeous dark blue water. Like MOST mountain Lakes ARE up in the mountains in Co. Thanks for sharing and taking us along. p.s.I think this is the video that got me watching and I'm so glad it did because of the Appalachian Trail.😏👍
