I don’t think it’s a dump and burn as such, but a purposeful negative g push that makes fuel vent from the wing igniting in the afterburner. The gripen doesn’t have a fuel dump capability as far as I’m aware

Talking about engine thrust is not really interesting considering that they all carry different kind of weight/loads. The Eurofighter IS good...just like the French Rafael. When it comes to defend your country...Gripen is the best in the world...no question. Sweden have no ambition to invade russia...It really kicks ass...in that role at least.
The Gripen C is plane in comparison with an EF Typhoon T3A/B or Rafale even just a 15+ year old variant. The world is more complex than because of a small qty. of Gripen = SWE is not welcomed by Russia in the NATO.

The dump and burn took me by surprise on Sunday having missed it on Sat. Excellent display. Last time I saw one was from an F1-11 years ago.

Gripens are badass, I’m as big of a USA fanboy as they come but these things are a marvel, extremely capable and cheap, reliable. Bravo JAS
Cheap? Compared to a P-51 maybe. Compared to the baseline of the USAF F-16C? Nope.
I think this is one of the top fighters in the world. So agile and smooth

i don't think there is a better aircraft at energy managing during max turns. That thing doesn't lose a knot of speed turning.

The EF Typhoon is far, far, far more powerful. The Gripen is the most powerless plane from the 4th gen without the high AoA capability of the Hornets.
