My Saab averages a little under $2k a year for dealer maintenance (including tires & everything). I think if you did the work yourself this could be close to or under $1k.

so to answer your question I'm 50/50 right now one was expensive and one isn't
With Saabs it really depends on how it was taken care of prior to your ownership and how you continue to take care of it
