The FAE STC200 DT is a Stone crusher designed for PTO tractors with a fixed teeth rotor. New Holland T7040 tractor is driving this beast.
The STC was designed and built to meet the needs of professionals requiring stone crushing up to 30 cm diameter and working in the ground up to 20 cm deep. Here the FAE mulcher is doing land preparation to make an even terrain for spray carts to drive on.
The FAE Stone Crusher STC200 was imported by TOMCAT Wood Chippers to South Africa as there is quite a need for a stone crusher unit in the agricultural sector. The unit was put to the test in different applications, soil and rock types to test the units' performance and running costs. Our conditions are different to the rest of the world and that is why it was needed to run the unit to see first hand how it performs. This PTO head is one of the firsts of it's sort and is something new for the South African market.
STONE CRUSHER WITH FIXED TOOTH ROTOR The STC was designed and built to meet the needs of professionals requiring stone crushing up to 30 cm diameter and working in the ground up to 20 cm deep. With the exception of the STC 125, each STC model comes with a dual transmission to ensure even power distribution across the rotor. Hardox® steel is used to line the crushing chamber along with the skids and ploughshare. This extends the life span of the STC and makes it a better investment for growing businesses.

you can eat all the dust
No way would I be driving that thing with an ass wind blowing all the dust around me, I’d drive back around to have the dust blowing away from me
Agreed. Very difficult area we worked in a valley between mountain ranges where the wind change constantly and blows from all different directions

you need to collect the dust because that's lost clay.
Yes. Usually we do stone crushing when there is more moisture in the soil to reduce dust.

And for all that expense, it turns a rock field into a gravel field.
The most significant advantage is that the soil is level and the orchard is 100% accessible. This alone saves the farmer thousands of $$ annually in repair cost on damages done on tractors, spraycarts and other implements. The only other way (and traditionally it has been done this way for decades) is to remove all the stones by hand which costs way more than the Stone Crusher because labor is expensive and it takes very long.
Should be ok with gravels because these are soft and weathered rocks, there is about 5 percent soils created from the process
