Wow! The Soprano and Alto have the sweetest and most beautiful timbre ever. I had never heard such lovely vibrato in this style. Downtown Quartet> PLEASE post more clips like this!!! Count me in as your super fan! We want more! Love from México 😍.
You are wonderful ! I love how Arcadelt created this pure example of Renaissance counterpoint. Your interpretation is superbe, your sound is clean, pure and vibrant..your sound elevate our soul
Here are the lyrics: Il bianco e dolce cigno cantando more, ed io piangendo giung' al fin del viver mio. Stran' e diversa sorte, ch'ei more sconsolato ed io moro beato. Morte che nel morire m'empie di gioia tutto e di desire. Se nel morir, altro dolor non sento, di mille mort' il di sarei contento And the english translation: The white and sweet swan dies singing, and I, weeping, reach the end of my life. Strange and different fate, that he dies disconsolate and I die a blessed death, which in dying fills me full of joy and desire. If in dying, were I to feel no other pain, I would be content to die a thousand deaths a day.
@@조한나-f3q U figured it out all by yourself?:D I mean seriusly. As far as i can remember, this song is about sex or orgazm but i never recognised. I just read its about sex. well done
This sparkling and superbly recorded version with easily-understood SATB parts is great fun to sing along with - so far the neighbors haven't complained!
I love theMuffs, the New Pornographers, Elvis Costello,Metric and the list goes on. But it's when I listen to music like this that my soul soars and I feel on the edge of tears I am so moved. Absolutely amazing.
honestly, i haven't listened to "popular" music for a while and i no longer want to go back to it i played a bit of pop on the piano today and listend to a bit of metal and rock and i found it revolting it is like filth
Bravo to the soprano for holding that final note to the end! I believe it's four (or is it five?) measures. I for one consider "Il bianco e dolce cigno" to be the most beautiful of all madrigals.
i used to sang this with my choir friends and the fact that sorpan lady could hold that 16 beat all by herself is amazing for my weak soprano voice lol:(
The first time I listened, I thought the soprano sung her Final note from 1:58 until the end (Which I thought was pretty impressive!). But when I listened a second time, I had the impression she "cheated" at 2:04? Or am I wrong? 😆

Please keep singing. This is absolutely beautiful.
Those final " di mille mort " are absolutely heavenly.
The pleasure this has given me! It was new to me,so I listened to the many renderings. This is the best by a good margin.

You guys are awesome! Beautiful pronunciation and rendition in general. Greetings from Brazil!😃👏👏
Wow! You sang that beautifully. It helps I suppose that you're working with such great material! ;-)

Wonderful song

That's not that difficult. You need to train your diaphragm technique, in order to increase your breath flow. Good luck!
Love it from Malaga!
Awesome! Thank you! :)
Difenitely spetacular ❤
The words are beautiful. And they have a very interesting pun! Do you know what it is?
What is this song about?! It’s so beautiful!!!

Beautiful! Was this recorded in the big cathedral in downtown Reykjavik?
Thank you! No, it’s in Skálholt - South Iceland.

This is great, I just don’t like how wide the soprano is with her vowels... if she were a little taller with them this would be so so perfect
Can I use this for my Project.I'll put the link on my description
Yes :-)
Thank you so much
Beautiful performance, but what's going on with the trousers?
