It's so much more than can be added here. There are water painting by John White that show how the Indigenous people of American looked then, and they look much like "African-Americans" looks now. Even for myself upon doing my genealogy, growing up believing that I am African American with "some Indian in my family", I understand personally how most of us, including Indians of American don't really know with Indians looked like then or now. I can honestly say that I have not found in African Ancestors in my many years of research. What I have found are countless Indigenous Ancestors from Powhatan tribes, mostly Pamunkey and Mattaponi, as well as Tsalagi and Lenape. There is so much more that should be discussed on this topic. I don't at all identify as native American but my grandmother is from Mississippi and of Choctaw descent. All her family visibly native. I wish I new more about this.
