I am a Traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu student, and this is one of the way that we are taught to throw.... I am presently surprised that Judo has this in it repertoire, too.
Lemme see if i got this... The second manner is like when an air ballon is filled, pushing the air outward will have the same result as just letting the air escape through the hole, right? Instead of delivering energy through muscular tension in a particular direction, you absorb your opponent's tension to a void. I mean, the energy still flows, but does not conflict, right?
