  • Lobelia Cardinalis is a unique aquascaping plant. It can serve as somewhat of a substitute for Anubias or Bucephalandra and is an excellent choice for Dutch style aquascapes.

    This is an amazing plant. I just received it three weeks ago and this plant is thriving. Aquarium Lab Plants are the best quality plants I have ever purchased .

    I received one in an order of five Anubius. It was really well rooted and it's exploding. Thanks Will! Thanks @AquariumPlantLab!

    Crazy that this is a native plant all over the east coast of the us and also is a popular garden plant you can find at most greenhouses! It is also called a hummingbird plant, as if planted in the soil outdoors, it grows like 4 feet tall and grows long spikes of flowers that hummingbirds like.

      Thanks so much for your support! I don’t ship on Thursdays to avoid excess transportation time, so your order will ship Friday and you’ll be notified with tracking info as soon as I create the label 🌱 Thanks again and good luck with the new tanks. I just rescaped mine actually :)

    I just bought a 55g and it’s completely empty. Looking for stocking options for plants and fish.

      For fish some of ny favorites are cardinal tetras and rummy nose tetras. I would suggest sticking with smaller fish if you want plants 🌱

    do you propagate them by dividing.?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just cut and replant the tops. The previous plant will get more bushy the new plant will root. Repeat. 👍

    @AquariumLabPlants How tall do they grow?

    Does it make runners?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can get side branches but it doesn’t really make runners like other plants in the typical sense. I would suggest cutting off the top and planting the top for propagation.

    Does it need CO2?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I rarely use injected co2 with any of my plants unless I want them to grow faster. Some plants require it but this one does not. A quality substrate and light should be sufficient. I typically use potting soil capped with gravel. Or gravel with liquid aquarium plant fertilizers. 🌱

    Grown emersed?

    • @AquariumPlantLab
      @AquariumPlantLab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes almost all commercially grown plants are grown emersed. Including plants sold by most online retailers and brick and mortar stores. They my hold them in tanks temporarily but usually that’s just for a short time until they are sold. Emersed plants convert to aquariums easily, just provide the necessary components for them to grow and they should do just fine for you (light nutrients and quality substrate). I use all my own emersed grown plants in my tanks and they hit the ground running and experience little to no melt. I’ve got a number of videos on this topic. 🌱
