He has to keep shaking his hand up and down so the salt doesn't get stuck in the gimmick. If it were real magic and the salt was just appearing, he wouldnt need to do this. The way to deconstruct magic is to examine the actions of the performer. These give clues to the method. Dai Vernon said "Be natural". It was a way to combat the above approach which leads to the leads to the suspension of belief in the magic.
I d like to see you perform it as well. Did you think it there is real magic? He never claims it. Do you enjoy someone telling you the ending of a movie you want to see? Let others enjoy the mystery or noodle it out for themselves. Otherwise you come across as bragging that you are so smart.
