Imagine a Nepal where millions of Nepalis are forced to return home from abroad, leaving behind their jobs and livelihoods. What would happen to our economy, our youth, and our future?
In this video, we explore the potential consequences of Nepal banning foreign employment. From the devastating impact on our remittance economy in Nepal, to the depletion of our foreign currency reserve, and the risk of hyperinflation, we examine the far-reaching effects of such a ban.
We also discuss the effects on Nepalese youth and employment, as millions of young Nepalis would be forced to compete for limited job opportunities in Nepal. Would this lead to a brain drain in Nepal, as our best and brightest minds are unable to find suitable employment?
Furthermore, we look at the challenges Nepal's human resource development would face, as we struggle to equip our youth with the skills needed to compete in the domestic job market. And finally, we ask the question: can Nepal achieve self-sufficiency in its job market, or would we be forever reliant on foreign employment?
