Recently I started watching your videos ( i still don't know how I came to them) and your knowledge and way of explaining and describing the use of fountain pens made me fall in love with something I never even thought about. I made a decision and bought my first pen through Amazon (sorry) it is an okay pen because I bought it on Amazon I felt I did a disservice to you and to me; with that said I decided to purchase a lamy from your company along some of those cool Japanese notepads... WOW, what a difference not only the quality of the product but how I receive the product. Your company sent the products super secure but what actually made be buy more within 2 days was the attention to detail I receive a hand-written thank you note and an awesome lollipop! Thank You.
It hasn't been done, but I think that's a great idea. I'm sure Brian has favorites each year, especially as we introduce new ink brands. Thanks for the feedback! - Colin
I think I have watched this video 3x already, I so enjoy it! Some of these replies are wonderful to read and learn new ink colors for me to try. Truly enjoy your informative videos since you do such a nice presentation. Hope all is well up your way.
My favorite 5 inks are, in order of use: 1) Pelikan 4001 Brillant Schwarz (Brilliant Black). It's my go-to black because it flows well and is a true bold black (no green, blue or brown overtones). I know that Noodler's Black is the Gold Standard for such properties, but I tried the Pelikan first and haven't moved on. 2) Waterman Rouge Audace. As a teacher I used a lot of red marking papers, and I need a reliable red that will not damage the pen I keep it in permanently. (I love J. Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite - the gold highlights, especially with a broader nib, are fantastic! - but I'm afraid it would stain the ink window if I left it in a pen for weeks on end. And with a new bottle of Noodler's Antietam ready to go, I may move on from Waterman if the newby is well behaved.) 3) Private Reserve Chocolat. It looks so good I want to drink it--a big rich brown that has lots of shading with the broad TWISBI 1.3mm stub I use it in. (When I am writing marginalia in books and want a smaller brown for a fine nib, I use J. Herbin Lie de Thé.) 4) Pelikan Edelstein Topaz. It's a blue that knocks my socks off! It's for peacock moments, almost radioactive in its sheen. My more sedate colleagues opine that it's too too for "official use", but I'm not giving it up. (Yes, if duty calls, I go to Noodler's 54th Massachusetts for a powerful, almost-black blue - and it's a fine option for my second blue.) 5) Choosing your "favorite 5" is like choosing your favorite 5 children when you have 7 - who to leave out? - but I'll say Private Reserve Spearmint. (I'll apologize to Iroshizuku shin-ryoku and Private Reserve Shoreline Gold later.) The PR Spearmint is a true green, and most of the time I don't want much yellow or blue in my green. It's a vibrant and lively Irish kind of green, dark enough for a fine nib and has nice shading with a stub.
Diamine Oxblood is my first fountain pen ink I've ever purchased. I was skeptical when ordering it since I was inexperienced, but the color was as shown. It's my favorite ink still and is visually stunning.
Great video as always Brian. I'm still somewhat of a newcomer to the world of fountain pens and inks however my five favourite so far are; 1. Iroshuzuku Kon Peki 2. Iroshuzuku Asa-Gao 3. Waterman Serenity Blue 4. Parker Quink: Permanent Blue 5. Iroshuzuku Yama Budo Keep up the superb videos and look forward to learning a whole bunch more!
I was just in a store here in Japan and saw the Iroshizuku line-up! Fantastic colors! I plan on getting a few bottles and Yama Budo and Asa-Gao are definitely on my short list!
Thanks for the incredible service your videos offer to the fountain pen community! Like so many others, my learning curve as I jumped in with gusto 2 years ago has been dramatically accelerated as a result! As for my top 5, #4 and 5 vary from week to week, but 1-3 are pretty solid: 1. Iroshizuku Kon-Peki 2. Diamine Red Dragon 3. Pilot Blue Black 4. Iroshizuku Yama Budo 5. Diamine Eau de Nil
I am a newbie and right now I love all of the inks I own. I think I am comparing them to rollerball/ballpoint inks. I do see a pattern starting with turquoise/blue being about half of what I own followed by purples. I also noticed the differences between saturations and shading. I like that I can have both and I am starting to appreciate when to use which.
What would you recommend. I'm fed up with the different black inks that aren't really black. They all dry and fade to a very dark grey and I'm looking for a solid black ink.
Noodler's Red Black: ALWAYS in a pen or two. SHADES nicely. Partially waterproof. Noodler's Navy: Also Always in a pen. Lovely SHADING ink. Partially waterproof. Noodler's Walnut: Rich deep nut brown. Partially waterproof, great for sketching Noodler's Lexington Grey:Totally waterproof/lightfast. Wonderful SHADING. Beautiful true neutral permanent grey. Perfect for sketching and signing artwork on paper. Noodler's Black: Totally waterproof/lightfast (HOD and X-feather on a par with.)
Waterman turquoise is my favourite fountaine pen ink in any occasion, taking notes, writing poetry, even drawing. I think that it's pretty close to my personality. Love you videos😍
Ooo yeah, Navajo is an awesome ink. I also really love Diamine Marine, but I just don't end up using these colors that often. I based this video off of the inks that I actually end up using on a regular basis.
Great video, thanks for always sharing such in-depth information! My top five favorite inks are vivid with great shading: Noodler's Apache Sunset, J.Herbin Rose Cyclamen, Pelikan Turquoise, Diamine Marine and Caran D'Ache Delicate Green.
Im only 11 and I have to go low budget so I have a Pilot Metropolitan, loving the fountain pen experience so far! Cant wait till I upgrade to something like a Lamy Safari (my budget at first was $20 so I couldnt get it) but I guess Ill get one soon, Fp's are just so smooth and satisfying to write with.
In terms of my favorite non-black ink... Noodler’s Apache Sunset used to be my favorite, until I tried its sibling ink, Cayenne. Darker than Apache Sunset, but still has the crazy gorgeous shading dynamics. ❤️
-Mont Blanc Leonardo, love the orange effects it gives just like the noodler's, -noodler's blue ghost, I just think it's soo creative I love it, -noodler's concord grape -pelican tourmaline plum - and of course noodler's black
Anyone who loves inks and pens is going to love your video series. I am torn between Namiki Refills Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku Peacock and Noodlers Ottoman Azure as my favorite of all time.
I am 49 years old and have just started using fountain pens. I have 3 metropolitains and just ordered a yellow lamy with converter. I have the noodlers black, midnight blue and just ordered the apache sunset for my yellow lamy. I will never go back to rollerball or ballpoint. Oh fountain pens where have I been all of your life!
I really like Noodler's Midway Blue. That is the ink that I got for my first fountain pen and the color really intrigued me. It is the color that was used during WWII and it is absolutely beautiful. I am really liking the Noodler's Polar Brown as well. I have several samples from you guys and I am really looking forward to trying them out as well.
Thank you, Brian, for sharing some of your favorite ink colors. My top favorites so far are Noodler's Golden Brown, Habanero, Kiowa Pecan and Apache Sunset. I like Lamy Violet and I wash it was sold in a bottle, alas, it only seems to come in cartridges.
Great video as always! Diamine denim, Noodlers Liberty's Elysium, Noodlers Black Swan in English Roses, Noodlers Apache sunset, and Iroshizuku Kon-Peki are probably my current top 5, but I've never checked out any brown inks and I'm starting to get pretty interested. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing your fave inks. My fave is Noodler's Lyberty's Elysium, Private Reserve American Blue, Diamine Syrah, R&K Alt-Goldgrün, and Noodler's X-Feather. =) Diamine Majestic Blue is starting to take up a spot on my top five ever since I got a sample of it. Keep on producing these videos Brian! Stay cool!
Bought Noodler's Black three years ago, almost finished the bottle and just came back to watch this video and decide what else to get along the "standard black" A nice feature of Noodler's Black is that it washes off easily from your hands but if it touches cellulose paper (i.e. regular printer paper) will never come off. Very useful if you want your writing to stay but don't want to have ink stains in your hands due to regular use of FP.
I've been using Noodler's inks almost exclusively in all of my pens. My top favorites are: - Legal Lapis - Black - Antietam - Zhivago I have tried a few other inks, but have not found anything that really flips my switch, so if I'm not using a Noodler's ink, then it's a Waterman blue-black. After watching this video, I'm looking forward to trying out Liberty's Elisium and Red Dragon.
Hi Brian, My favourite ink is Penman Mocha! I was given a present of a bottle in 1998 and was also given the sample bottle from Webster’s En shop in their London Mall, when the ink was discontinued. The nearest in production ink that I have found to Mocha is Diamine Macassar - it is ever so slightly more red and doesn’t quite shade as much, but they are virtually indistinguishable when doodled together on the same sheet of paper. I like the antique look of both and find them to be very similar in hue to the ink on some 200 year old documents that I have.
Thanks Brian, don't really have five favorites yet but for sure one of my favorites is Monte Blanc Racing Green. Was lucky to find a bottle in a Monte Blanc store at a mall in San Antonio. It was their last bottle.
Yes, this is one of the more popular inks in my Pilot pens, which is where you'll see me talk about them a lot. Kon Peki would make the 'honorable mentions' list if I had one. It's important to note that while these inks are all ones I've loved for a long time, this list could change. Kon Peki used to be in my top five, but Liberty's beat it out.
My personal 5 favourites are: 1. Platinum Carbon Ink (waterproof sketches to use with watercolours) 2. Diamine Ancient Copper (writing for fun) 3. Diamine Blue Flame (shimmering ink for calligraphy) 4. Iroshizuku take-sumi (for fine writing in black that won´t need to be waterproof) 5. Diamine Meadow (perfect green for calligraphy)
I am a big fan of Diamine Majestic Blue, but one of my favorite inks is Diamine Emerald. it is very simple yet elegant. I use it in my Lamy Vista with a 1.1 italic and it is stunning. A must have ink for any pen.
I have far too many inks. But, at the end of the day, good old fashioned quink blue black works just great. And also reminds me of junior school somehow.
I enjoyed this video as I always do! The only one of the five that I have tried is the Red Dragon, and I liked it so much that I ordered a small bottle of it (before discovering this video). I call it "ESV Psalms Red" because it looks just like the deep red accents in that Psalter. (Thanks, Margaret, for suggesting it as a match.) This is a beautiful deep red that doesn't look at all like "grading papers red," which I definitely did not want. Goulet Pens is a great company; keep up the good work.
These are my regular basis inks too, but I guess I'm in a unique situation. As a student, I do most of my work and notes in fines and xfs and usually end up filling every corner of the page with writing. Having 6 different colors is pretty much necessary in order to color code and organize my notes (and the end result is that the page has colorful patches across it, which just makes me smile). My math teacher once said that if I didn't color code, he wouldn't be able to accept my homework. ha ha
I've tried about twenty inks, but so far, only two have absolutely won my heart in the color department; J. Herbin Cafe des Iles (oh, if only it was waterproof!!!), and Pre-Slovenian Sheaffer Blue-Black.
My favorites (just by looks of the colors) are: Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo, Diamine Oxblood, Pelikan Tanzanite, and #1 Iroshizuku Yu-yake. Thanks for the video.
I am on Long Island NY and visit Col. Williamsburg in VA as I am a big history buff, and love the people and atmosphere. Have you seen the man who portrays Patrick Henry there? I have been there for the last 6 years and he is simply amazing and gets you all fired up to stand up for your beliefs etc. Can't wait to go again in April! Can't wait to try some of these inks! I am in love with Noodler's Salmon (very pink, just like my blog color, so I was excited. Your ink swaps are a great way to shop for colors!)
Private Reserve Ebony Blue blows everything out of the water for me, just gorgeous. Following that: Iroshizuku Ku-jaku, Iroshizuku Shin-Ryoku, Noodler's Apache Sunset, and Diamine Oxblood
Hi Brian, I know this is an old video, but since I just found it... I wanted to add my two cents on my favorite inks/colors. First in Noodler's North African Violet (just ordered a replacement bottle from you). It's saturated, but not garish in it's coloring. My second is Monteverde California Teal. Beautiful blue green and a wonderful shading ink. So, there it is! Thanks for all your great vids. You are a master at marketing!
Both are great options. In general, the new Monteverde inks might be a bit underrated. They are very vibrant & well-behaved, love the look of California Teal. - Colin
Great video! Top 5 inks would have to be.. 1) Diamine Oxblood 2) Noodler's Apache Sunset 3) Private Reserve Avocado Green 4) Iroshizuku Ku Jaku 5) Private Reserve Tanzanite
Picked up my 1st FP bottle ink yesterday--Noddler's Apache Sunset! My FPs (Lamy Al-Star Ocean Blue EF + Lamy Studio Blue EF) are still on their way so I rinsed an old FP I brought with me from home (I've had this old pen since 5,6 years ago and haven't use it for a very long while) and please allow me to quote, "IT WRITES LIKE A CHAMP!" I couldn't believe it cuz the old FP that I'm filling it with has a fine/extra fine "curvy (droped it on floor once)" nib, but still, the SHADING looks AMAZING!
My favourite red is Monaco Red from Diamine. It is in my 3 daily use pens for notes planning etc. Second one is also Diamine it is Midnight Blue, it is my main and basic ink. I am beginning to use more colors now.
Lamy Turquoise (now testing other turquoise inks) Diamine Grey (ohhhh that ink in Faber-Castell Basic Carbon looks ace!) Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite (writes great on every paper) And my latest purchase - Lamy Coral - love it love it love it!
alright. ● montblanc Irish green ● diamine ox blood ● Montblanc royal blue and I'll really use any old black ink. I haven't really used any crazy colors. mostly because I'm in highschool and they don't like the students using crazy colors
I'm absolutely loving Cult Pens / Diamond deep dark Orange. I have it in my white Pilot MR (basically a metropolitan). The shading is amazing and love the .. we'll, deep darkness of it!
Listened to this just now. I've been using the Pilot Green Cartridges in my Metropolitan and love the color. I'm trying to get a converter, but I having trouble finding a bottled ink that matches.
I'm a big fan of green ink! I've only recently discovered the joy of fountain pen use and am slowly growing my collection. That being said, I have only used kaweco palm green ink so far, mainly due to the fact that I only have a few kaweco pens and thought that I might as well stick with the manufacturer, but that Apache Sunset is beautiful! I recently ordered a Lamy CP1 (as my everyday) and would love to try out a green from a few differed manufacturers. I must also purchase that stunning Apache sunset, and that robust red dragon.
PlaceboTree oh gosh, please explore outside the Kaweco ink brand. There are so many more to discover! Nothing against theirs, it's just a very limited palette compared to what others like Noodler's have. Apache Sunset will blow your mind :) -Brian Goulet
Hey there, I just recently got some 'Plum' ink by De Atramentis (not sure if it's sold in the US, but try ebay) and it's really interesting. Like a dark green-blue. It's just about dark enough to use at work, I think, but a nice change from black or blue-black.
This is an old post, so I don't know if you'll actually see this, but just in case! First, I really like your videos and find them helpful. Keep up the great work! I've been looking at different inks (newbie here) and saw this video. One thing I noticed was that I kept going back in the video to see the ink sample pictured in the upper right corner at the beginning of each color review. Maybe in the future you could show video of you writing with the ink during your commentary a little more, so viewers could get more of an idea of how the ink looks during the writing process. Just a suggestion. I look forward to more from Goulet in the future and thanks again for all your insights!
The only ink I've bought a bottle of is still my favorite ink - Diamine Eclipse. It's a great "black" ink but it has this really subtle deep purple colour to it that comes out sometimes making it a very distinct ink to write with (in a sea of black inks).
Great inks, great review. Thanks
1:18 - Noodler's Black -- The standard for black inks. Very permanent. Very waterproof.
2:43 - Diamine Majestic Blue -- Deep, Dark, Saturated blue with a heavy red sheen. Cons: Smears easily, takes forever to dry.

1. Irushizuku Ku Jaku
2. Diamine Umber
3. Lexington Grey
4. Diamine Onyx Black
5. Noodler's Apache Sunset
Now, stop me if this is already being done. But how about doing this on a yearly basis? Top 5 inks for 2016, 2017, 2018 and so on?
It hasn't been done, but I think that's a great idea. I'm sure Brian has favorites each year, especially as we introduce new ink brands. Thanks for the feedback! - Colin
I just witnessed the birth of a series

A couple of my current favorites are Lamy Blue-Black in a bottle and Waterman Florida Blue.
I love this video. Apparently a lot of others did too! Thanks for your passion.
Black ink is like my thing. I want it as black as the void before the Big Bang. Otherwise it's just really dark grey.
What would you recommend. I'm fed up with the different black inks that aren't really black. They all dry and fade to a very dark grey and I'm looking for a solid black ink.
@@laksh_12345 platinum carbon black is the one.
Noodler's Red Black: ALWAYS in a pen or two. SHADES nicely. Partially waterproof.

Noodler's Walnut: Rich deep nut brown. Partially waterproof, great for sketching
Noodler's Lexington Grey:Totally waterproof/lightfast. Wonderful SHADING. Beautiful true neutral permanent grey. Perfect for sketching and signing artwork on paper.
Noodler's Black: Totally waterproof/lightfast (HOD and X-feather on a par with.)
Glad to see Apache Sunset in your list. I picked up my bottle in a starter bundle from GouletPens and I love it.
Thanks for the great review Brian. Not only is there some nice colors there, but the labels are classic too.
Cheers!
Waterman turquoise is my favourite fountaine pen ink in any occasion, taking notes, writing poetry, even drawing. I think that it's pretty close to my personality. Love you videos😍
Thanks for the video. Always like to hear about different inks I may have missed.
Those are 3 great inks! Of the ones on your list, I'd say go for Ancient Copper or Rouge Hematite next, I think you'd really enjoy them.
"Liberty's Elysium" is a GREAT name. It's very poetic, in both it's aesthetics, and in the truth it speaks.
My favorites are Apache Sunset Apache sunset apache sunset apache sunset apache sunset. No questions asked
Coded Colt It's an awesome color! -Margaret
Coded Colt
I searched the color on Goulet. (°^°)/~┴┴

+eighan odonell You are so lucky! I got my first fountain pen from my father like last month and now I'm hocked. Is there such a thing a penoholism?
I would love to see an updated list from Brian!
In terms of my favorite non-black ink... Noodler’s Apache Sunset used to be my favorite, until I tried its sibling ink, Cayenne. Darker than Apache Sunset, but still has the crazy gorgeous shading dynamics. ❤️
Yeah, really love Cayenne as well! A bit in the shadow of Apache Sunset, but that just makes for an awesome underrated ink. - Colin
I really love the Sailor Blue black ink, really nice color to the ink, highly recommend it.
Thank you! I appreciate your support, you're helping me to keep doing this :)
-Mont Blanc Leonardo, love the orange effects it gives just like the noodler's,

Anyone who loves inks and pens is going to love your video series. I am torn between Namiki Refills Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku Peacock and Noodlers Ottoman Azure as my favorite of all time.
Can you use ANY noodlers ink for fountain pens?
The sheen is the reason I love Majestic Blue!
I love Diamine Scarlet and Lagoon Blue! Especially when used together on the same page for contrast...They are my favorite.
Nice! That yellow LAMY & Apache Sunset combo will be amazing. - Colin
My fave inks are:
1- Mont Blanc Midnight Blue
2- Lamy Black
3- Noodler's Nikita or Mont Blanc Hitchcock
Thanks for a great video post.
I really like Noodler's Midway Blue. That is the ink that I got for my first fountain pen and the color really intrigued me. It is the color that was used during WWII and it is absolutely beautiful. Currently using Noodler's Cactus Green and Midway Blue! Love hem!

1) Baystate Blue
2) Noodler's Bulletproof Black
3) Pilot Murasaki-Shikibu
4) Noodler's Polar Green
5) Waterman's Audacious Red
That is a really cool ink, I like it too.

Keep on producing these videos Brian! Stay cool!
Bought Noodler's Black three years ago, almost finished the bottle and just came back to watch this video and decide what else to get along the "standard black"
A nice feature of Noodler's Black is that it washes off easily from your hands but if it touches cellulose paper (i.e. regular printer paper) will never come off. Very useful if you want your writing to stay but don't want to have ink stains in your hands due to regular use of FP.
For sure, a lot of Noodler's inks act similarly! - Colin
Right here in Virginia with you, I actually live a few minutes away from Patrick Henry Highschool so that’s awesome! Love the story behind that ink
I was hoping you were going to mention Noodler's Bay Blue and the Private Reserve Black Cherry;they are both GORGEOUS inks!
Just bought from you. Loved the experience. Will do again!
I've been using Noodler's inks almost exclusively in all of my pens. My top favorites are:
- Legal Lapis
- Black
- Antietam
- Zhivago
I have tried a few other inks, but have not found anything that really flips my switch, so if I'm not using a Noodler's ink, then it's a Waterman blue-black. After watching this video, I'm looking forward to trying out Liberty's Elisium and Red Dragon.
There’s something about the deep velvety colors like Red Dragon that keeps me interested in fountain pens.
Hi Brian,
My favourite ink is Penman Mocha! I was given a present of a bottle in 1998 and was also given the sample bottle from Webster’s
En shop in their London Mall, when the ink was discontinued.
Awesome how you mentioned Noodler's Ottoman Azure- my first ever ink bottle :D
Conscript69 nice :) -Brian Goulet
I don't know why but I feel great with your VDO clip. Now I try to buy a fountain pen because of u. :D
I thought for sure Kon Peki was going to be in your top 5:) I may have to check out Liberty.
My personal 5 favourites are:
1. Platinum Carbon Ink (waterproof sketches to use with watercolours)
2. Diamine Ancient Copper (writing for fun)
3. Diamine Blue Flame (shimmering ink for calligraphy)
4. Iroshizuku take-sumi (for fine writing in black that won´t need to be waterproof)
5. Diamine Meadow (perfect green for calligraphy)
Hey, I have the exact same shirt! That’s my favorite shirt!
Bruh I think my dad has the same shirt lmao
I am surprised that Pilot Iroshizuku's Kon Peki wasn't in this list. I usually hear you mention this ink and hue a lot in your videos.
I am a big fan of Diamine Majestic Blue, but one of my favorite inks is Diamine Emerald. it is very simple yet elegant. I use it in my Lamy Vista with a 1.1 italic and it is stunning. A must have ink for any pen.
I really like the noodler's brown ink, looks like coco or nice wood grain. nice change from blue or black all the time.
Yeah, brown inks in general are underrated in my opinion. Love Noodler's Walnut & Diamine Espresso. - Colin
I really like the Noodler's "Walnut" ink.
My absolute favorite, day to day use ink is Noodler's Pacific Dawn, it's an exclusive blue-black ink, permanent and water proof
Can you use ANY noodlers ink for fountain pens?
I've gotta say, I really love Noodlers Midnight Blue!
Goulet Pens is a great company; keep up the good work.
ec fan Thanks! Glad it's worked out for you :) -Margaret
Ooo, nice list! Ku Jaku is cool too, i often forget about that ink.
My math teacher once said that if I didn't color code, he wouldn't be able to accept my homework. ha ha
Glad you liked my vid! Thanks for supporting my store ; )
As a college student, I really like Noodler's Black, Diamine Oxblood, Waterman Purple, Diamine Pumpkin, and Lamy Turquoise.
Nice! Yeah, I do really like this one.
I've tried about twenty inks, but so far, only two have absolutely won my heart in the color department; J. Herbin Cafe des Iles (oh, if only it was waterproof!!!), and Pre-Slovenian Sheaffer Blue-Black.
Wonderful review. Brian is the Da Vinci of the pen and ink review world.
Chris Evans haha, I'll definitely take that compliment :) -Brian Goulet
My favorites (just by looks of the colors) are: Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo, Diamine Oxblood, Pelikan Tanzanite, and #1 Iroshizuku Yu-yake. Thanks for the video.
+Isaiah Albert Those are some great picks! Oxblood is my absolute favorite. - Colin
Iroshizuko Kon-Peki. Beautiful ink.
You're welcome! thanks for sharing your favs : )
1) Diamine Oxblood
2) Noodler's Apache Sunset
3) Private Reserve Avocado Green
4) Iroshizuku Ku Jaku
5) Private Reserve Tanzanite
Heck yeah Apache Sunset ;)
My favourite red is Monaco Red from Diamine. It is in my 3 daily use pens for notes planning etc. Second one is also Diamine it is Midnight Blue, it is my main and basic ink. I am beginning to use more colors now.
Lamy Turquoise (now testing other turquoise inks)
Diamine Grey (ohhhh that ink in Faber-Castell Basic Carbon looks ace!)
Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite (writes great on every paper)
And my latest purchase - Lamy Coral - love it love it love it!
Nice pics! I haven't had a chance to use Lamy Coral yet, glad you like it. -Brian Goulet
my favourite? Iroshizuku SyoRo, because of that BEAUTIFUL bottle
Red Dragon was my very first bottle of ink, it'll most likely remain my favourite red ink on the market
My absolute favourite is Iroshizuku Ajisai, also love Montblanc Royal Blue
Good list! I like American Blue, it's REALLY similar to Noodler's Blue. And Liberty's, for that matter. I like this shade of blue a lot.
alright.
● montblanc Irish green
● diamine ox blood
● Montblanc royal blue
and I'll really use any old black ink. I haven't really used any crazy colors. mostly because I'm in highschool and they don't like the students using crazy colors
L. B Irish Green is so nice. My number one ink, no question.
I, like many others, perfer red dragon to odblood. But oxblood is still a super cool red.
It's Noodler's Black, I emptied one out and filled it with Noodler's Black before I wrote with it.
I do like Scabiosa a lot, too. That's probably tied with Purple Heart as my favorite purple.
Diamine oxblood, one of my favourites.
I'm absolutely loving Cult Pens / Diamond deep dark Orange. I have it in my white Pilot MR (basically a metropolitan). The shading is amazing and love the .. we'll, deep darkness of it!
Im loving diamine quartz black right now. Pretty much the only ink my metropolitan has seen
Thanks!
Listened to this just now. I've been using the Pilot Green Cartridges in my Metropolitan and love the color. I'm trying to get a converter, but I having trouble finding a bottled ink that matches.
Very respectable!
I'm looking for a fountain pen with a bit more permanence than my basic Parker, and some inks to go with it. This channel is as far as I need to look!
You have good taste!
Bummer! You still have some great inks here, even with your limited access ;)
Get video. I’m new to fountain pens. I find your videos very informative, interesting and entertaining.
So glad! -Margaret
Thanks for watching! We appreciate the feedback! - Drew
The only ink I've bought a bottle of is still my favorite ink - Diamine Eclipse. It's a great "black" ink but it has this really subtle deep purple colour to it that comes out sometimes making it a very distinct ink to write with (in a sea of black inks).
