My favorite cleaning tool is the toothpick. It let's me get to the little teeny tiny areas that even a toothbrush can't clean. It helps me loosen the mildew that occasionally builds up in my shower faucet and to get whatever gunk there may be deep in the cracks of the shower door. It's also helped me to get gum out of my sneakers and to also clean the gunk that was coating the oven door when I first moved in.
There really are just so many ways that toothpicks really help me to get my apartment clean.

Also for some quick cleaning, I would recommend a couch vacuum. We got one a few months ago, and using it the first time and seeing how much pet hair came off blew my mind! They’re really useful and pick up everything!

Love, love, love my Maker's microfiber cloths. I have two large space kits and just ordered individual ones on the current sale. I have previously used microfiber, but you've shown me that there is a big difference between good quality microfiber and the cheap cloths I used to get. Thanks to you as well for turning me on to the wonderful cleaning properties and multiple uses of vinegar and dish soap. You've really changed how I clean and I truly thank you for that.

I think my one tool would be a cloth since they're reusable and are so great at cleaning. I love the Maker's cloths because they really do work well. I'm not just saying this; it's my honest opinion. I have other microfiber cloths which work well, but aren't as high quality.

I am actually a huge fan of microfiber cloths. We use them to dust the apartment (we have 2 dogs and 2 cats in a small 750 sq. ft. apt) and generally clean the house. I also love the Mr. Clean erasers, they did wonders on the scuffs on the front door.

One of my best things is a caddy to carry all my cleaning products in. Not only does it help me save time form going backwards and forwards, it also allows me to see how much of a product is left in a container. I usually have one bottle of anything in a cupboard as well- so if the one in the container is running low, i can get the other one out of the cupboard AFTER i put it on the shopping list!

Vinager is awesome. People don't know that bleach doesn't kill mold spores. Vinager does. Uses it for laundry, especially towels and shower curtain. Use instead of fab soft. Mix with dawn for shower walls. Mixed in a spray bottle for air fresh and cleaning food prep and storage areas. Run through dishwasher and coffee maker. Cleaning irons to de scale. I'm still a fan of pine sol. Floors mostly.

I have a Big floor squegee... its made for hairstylists instead of a broomstick, it has a ‘twirling’ handle, so I can get in everywhere!
It’s faster and easier than a normal broom to get bigger messes off the floor before vacuuming and washing....

The smell of vinegar dissipates very quickly - I don't find a residual odor like there is with regular store bought cleaners. It does disinfect to some extent- it was the recommended disinfectant for my disabled son's speaking device. It doesn't disinfect like other products though. Thanks for this video! And, yes, vinegar is my most frequently used cleaning product.

My favorite product is probably mäntysuopa. It's a traditional all natural cleaning product that we use in our country, Finland. It's made with pine oil. I use it to clean the sauna and as a multipurpose cleaner, but you can do the laundry with it too, clean the floors, really anything you can think of. I love the pine smell.
I also love the Universal stone for cleaning or the scrub daddy version called Powerpaste. Works great and so versatile.

Just love power, ease of use, great cut lines of Shark Navigator. Asked for basic model for Christmas to use on carpets/hard floors daily. Helps keep dust down. Actually fun to use, despite my loyalty to Dyson upright for years. Just advised a friend to get a Navigator Liftoff yesterday, $150.00. Only $20.00 more than basic model atBig Lots and seems well worth it. Friend got me the basic on eBay for $100. Even with rotator cuff issues, I find I keep grabbing the Shark daily.

I sometimes use a pizza dough cutter for scraping crumbs off of a surface and then wipe with a microfiber cloth and all purpose cleaner. I feel like it helps me get more uses out of my microfiber cloth before needing to wash it since all the crumbs aren’t getting stuck in the cloth.

Yes please vacuum's! Although your brands may be different to mine here in the Uk. Dyson good. Vax ok. For total dependability (and I use mine for my cleaning business) the Numatic Henry or Hetty. Downside is they are bigger and heavier (esp when full: change the filter bags often) than most but do an excellent job on everything - even pet hair.

I would probably go with microfiber cloths. I got some a couple of months ago, and I haven't been this efficient with my cleaning ever! It grabs ahold of most of the dust, and it definitely traps in moisture when I'm drying my dishes or what-have-you. Love them!

It also works for your hands when you have tree sap or glue stuck on your hands!

I was wondering if you could make a video update of how to clean your cleaning products and also show how you clean a mop like this one. I clean mine by soaking it and them give it a scrub by hand, but I'm sure there must be a better way to do it. I've tried to detach the bristles to put them in the wash but it doesn't seem to work.

If you hate the smell of vinegar I recommend putting a few drops of natural peppermint oil in the vinegar bottle that you use for cleaning. The scent of peppermint completely masks the smell of vinegar and it has a lovely, fresh scent.

    • @ainorey882
      @ainorey882 ปีที่แล้ว

I use vinegar instead of fabric softener when I do the laundry and I put peppermint oil in it. It works amazingly.
Vinegar is better for clothes than fabric softener because it works for all materials, unlike fabric softener which ruins elasticity of clothes, and vinegar gets rid of bad smells and nicely freshens up everything. It's obviously a lot more natural and good for the environment too and I heard it's good for the washer itself.

I live in OC and my clear shower doors looked frosted no matter what. I used the squeegee everyday and harsh chemicals.... no difference.
I use equal parts vinegar/ blue dawn in a spray bottle . Spray and Let it sit for 10 Min and use a sponge to wipe off and rinse with water .With a few times it will be 100% gone . You can even rotate it with just 100% vinegar. To remove the hard water .
I no longer use a squeegee . once a week I use this solution to clean .You can use it on your bathtub/ shower tiles / faucet/ bathroom sink / toilet bowl.
Again I usually spray it down and give it 10 Min before cleaning.

My favorite cleaning tool is my steam cleaner together with good fiber cloths. With any kind of spray I hate the fact that I have to breathe in the little droplets especially when I'm inside the shower. With the steam I just have the water and it works really well for me.

Hi Melissa thanks for the great cleaning tips. Can you post ideas for cleaning a gas range? Also how do you clean or wash a handbag/purse? Thanks.

BKF works excellent for white porcelain sinks. It removes the rust left in tub if you leave Bobby pins.

Thank you for telling the % of vinegar. In sweden you can buy 24% vinegar, and we dillute it at home.

I watched an older video of yours where viewers were asking what your favorite spray bottle was and that yours is from ikea but it’s old and you have had a hard time finding one. I use Method all purpose spray as my main all purpose cleaner and I love their spray bottles. So once a bottle of method is empty, I rinse it out and use that (after I remove the labels) for all of my DIY cleaners.

Reusable rubber gloves. It doesn't matter what I'm cleaning, having gloves makes a world of difference. They both motivate me to clean, and protect my hands from hot water and chemicals xD

My must have cleaning thing: MY KIRBY VACUUM! It’s the world’s best duster (doesn’t just move dust around). It doesn’t just vacuum my hardwood floors and carpets, it actually shampoos my carpets (not just dilute the stain/spill) and shines and mood my hardwood floors. (Yes, I love it!)

If I only could have one cleaning product it would be a makers’ microfiber cloth. It will do every job.

I like to use my electric toothbrush (old brush) to get in all the nooks and crannies. Saves a lot of elbow grease. Not my favorite tool, but right up there. Favorite tool might be the spray bottle.or the iron handle.
