Its not easy to perfectly time the bottom but it is possible to scale in around the bottom and scale out during the mania.
Trying to time the market perfectly is like trying to catch a falling knife... with buttered hands!

@@yortfu Not taking everything out, or as you call it holding from the top, does not imply buying at the top. The buying was done the past 1,5 yr, and can now still be done. Raoul says do not look at price, but at time. Sell a part, maybe a third, by the end of this year, maybe another part 1st half of 2025. Also leave a fair chunk in for next cycle. No one suggests buying the top.

Regarding Latin America. There is this tiny country in the area currency is outperforming the USD. Economy is growing 4.5% expected to hit 6%. Demographic are perfect, producing more engineers that most countries enjoying a tsunami of nearshoring factories. You may not have heard of this little land they call it Mexico
Would the xrp factor be the court case that could well have stumped it in the last bull run. All the others could have case dropped on them at any time. Lots on people jumped out when the case was dropped on them. Hopefully the US sort some regs out and everything is free to run and be used as it should be.

Incorrect regarding capital gains in Australia. The rule is 30%. You get a 50% discount if you hold the asset for longer than 1 year resulting in just 15% capital gains tax.
If you are poor then yes. Capital gains tax has the same thresholds as the income tax. So from 2024 30% and above $200k income 45%. If you hold more than a year 50% discount.
We have one of the highest capital gains tax unfortunately.

Missed the live action here. Question if you ever read this @raoulor @Julien if you dont mind would you be able to address how AI is going to affect the whole thesis with the productivity gains we are going to get out of it and the resulting increase in the GDP output.
