Beautiful playing Tim.Great tone,great(melodic)ideas,motifs etc.Been playing long time.best thing I've learnt(so far)-melodic minor ideas.in your key-F- mel min,Ab mel min,C min(whatever).
Hey Tim, This is great! Any update on your next book? (Melodic Jazz Guitar Soloing I'd heard?) - If that is the case, hope you can include some Recommended Listening for Jazz to check out to get 'the sound' (like you did in Melodic Blues book) i.e. Louis Armstrong Hot 5 / Hot 7 etc. It would be great if you could include chapters on: Major ii-V-I (short and long); Minor ii-V-I (short and long); I-vi-ii-V (1-6-2-5); Dominant Cycle of 5ths progression; Static D7 vamp; ii-V moving in half-steps; Static Dorian; something for the B-Section of Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise; and maybe a minor blues? .... not that I'm asking for much!!! lol Additionally, have you got plans to do a Walking Bass book with Guitarvivo? I think you'd be great at that! I love that part of your playing! I also wonder if you would consider having some more extended interviews on your channel (similar to the one with John Knowles from a few years ago) - two people in a room with guitars talking about all things Guitar-related! There's so much to digest in that 1 interview - it would be great to see more of that type of thing ... possibly John Stowell would be great for that, or another with John Knowles even?
@@TimLerchGuitar I'll need to check out the 3 day trial then - Thanks Tim! Great news on the book too :) Excited to seeing what chord progressions you include - love your style of soloing so I'm looking forward to that too.
I'm a fan of Tim, but the 3 day trial would be cool if you didn't have to put your payment details in. I'm not a big fan of the automatic rollover to monthly payments method of subscribing. (It's helpful to set a reminder so you can make a decision before getting charged.) But I'm sure the course is of immense value.
Thanks for the input, it’s a bit harsh but I’ll take it into consideration. It’s not a scam if we are completely upfront about the details, which we are. We offer the free 3 day trial for folks who are interested and aren’t sure if it’s a good fit for their skill level etc. not to prey on the forgetful.
Just a couple of perspectives: Did you consider that the payment platform Tim's using might not actually allow free trials without payment information? I know there are a few platforms that don't provide this option. The other thing is that when you run a community website where members interact and you're trying to cultivate a sense of community, you want some sort of filtration system so that you don't have the community continually disturbed by people who aren't actually interested in taking it seriously. Another really important reason for it is that it stops people from taking advantage of the system by creating multiple accounts with different emails. By validating accounts with payment details, you can stop people from exploiting the system. There’s also the issue of managing memberships without an initial payment method, which can significantly increase admin costs due to handling unpaid accounts, access disputes, and abuse of the system. These overheads ultimately affect the quality and affordability of the service for serious users. A small entry requirement, like providing payment details, ensures that the community consists of people who are similarly committed. This commitment translates to a more engaged and supportive group that values the space and wants to help each other grow.
@@TimLerchGuitar Thanks for responding, Tim. You're right. Apologies for the asperity. There's no excuse, though US politics has left me a bit fraught of nerves. I'll edit the reply to be a bit less arch.
@@cowcrossstreet we’ve increased it to a seven day trial, which allows us to send out a reminder on day six that the trial is coming to an end. Hopefully that helps with the forgetfulness issue.
if you like this kind of playing, consider the free 7 day trial at www.timsguitarworkshop.com
