Did I understand you correctly? I punched the pin out in the direction of the arrow and in opposite the arrow. My arrows were pointing toward the slotted heads. In order to punch the slotted heads in as you showed it had to be done that way to match the other slotted head when complete. Thank you for the video.
I hope this adjustment reso'ves my problem. My watchband is nuch too loose. I already had 1 link removed but it is still much too big on me. My only concern is that when I take t anothrt link, will I sti'' be able to realign the bracdlet And put one end into the other end abd lock it? I find it very awkward trying to do this even with the bracelet too long.
This is wrong for my watch. On my Watch, You have to push the pin out in the opposite direction of the point on the arrow. The arrows states which direction to push the pin out first. To simplify, you place your tool at the opposite end of the arrow, and bang on that end. The end of the pin with the slot that looks like it has tiny fins on the end will come out first. Otherwise it would be impossible to push the pin from the other end. The little fins catch the inside of the hole to secure the pin in place. When you put the pin back in, you turn the band over and then you insert the round end with no fins in first, and it will go in easily. At this point you are inserting the pin in the end that the arrow is pointing to. Other watch bands might be different.

Mine pins go out with the direction of arrows and back in against the arrows.
Very good. The blue "kit" isn't really necessary. I improvised with fork tines.
