കോൽക്കളിയെ പറ്റി സാറിന്റെ അറിവുകൾ വളരെ പരിമിതം. സാർ പറഞ്ഞത് അതിന്റെ ഒരു മലബാർ വേർഷൻ മാത്രം. പരേതനായ ചുമ്മാർ ചൂണ്ടൽ സർ കേരളത്തിലെ എല്ലാ നാടൻ കലകളെ പറ്റി യും ഗവേഷണം നടത്തി പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ പ്രസിദ്ധി കരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹമായിരുന്നു പതിറ്റാണ്ടുകളോളം കലോത്സവവേ ദി കളിൽ നടൻ കലകളുടെ ജഡ്ജ്. തെക്കൻ, വടക്കൻ, ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ, മുസ്ലിം പുലയ വിഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ പെട്ടവർ വ്യത്യസ്ത രീതിയിൽ ഇത് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു ജില്ല, സ്റ്റേറ്റ് മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് ജഡ്ജ് ആയി വന്നിരുന്ന ചുമ്മാർ സർ ന്റെ നാടൻ കലകളിലുള്ള പരി ജ്ഞാനം അപരമായിരുന്നു.
ഓരോ ടീമീ ന്റെ 6:01 യും കളിയുടെ കുറവുകളും പാട്ട് സ്റ്റെപ്പ് എന്നിവയുടെ വ്യത്യാസങ്ങൾ വരെ അദ്ദേഹം ആടി പാടി കാണിച്ച് തരുമായിരുന്നു. ഒരു അധ്യാപകനായിരുന്ന ഞാൻ കോൽക്കളി, പരിചമുട്ടുകളി മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്ഥിരം കുട്ടികളെ കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ യാണ്‌ സാറിനെ പരിചയം. വായോവൃദ്ധ നായിരുന്നപ്പോളും അദ്ദേഹം കളിച്ചു കാണിക്കുന്ന രംഗം ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോഴും എന്റെ ഓർമ്മയിൽ ഉണ്ട്‌.അദ്ദേഹത്തെ നന്ദി യോട് സ്മരിക്കുന്നു.
കുട്ടികളെ നാടൻ കലാ മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്ക്‌ ചുമ്മാർ സാറി ന്റെ പഠനങ്ങൾ 6:01 നന്നായി ഉപകരിക്കും.
