That chassis is really something special, there is so many RC buggies and trucks that have a version of that, I guess it must be the Team Associated originally, and then all the others copied it, ha ha! Anyway, great looking truck, after the rebuild of course, ha ha! I'm really noticing how good your videos are, Mikael! The editing must be a lot of work, so many individual clips, and each of them have a certain action in it, showing a certain screw, or the mesh, or a loose shock cap. It's real visual storytelling, it's so exciting!
Hi Mads! Ahh, Team Associated? Didn’t know that. It looks very ‘firestorm’ to me, but the only other 2WD 1/10 stadium trucks I’ve had are Tamiya and Kyosho. Basically a stadium truck for me is just a buggy, with longer suspension arms, bigger wheels/tires and a truck body 😊 Ahh, yeah, it looks much better now. Not new, but in a state where I actually have a desire to run it, he he. And thank you for the compliment Mads. The thing that really takes time is not so much preparing the individual clips. It’s getting it right to the music and adding text. I sort of skipped the music work here, and totally skipped the text. It could need both, especially a bit of info here and there, but not enough time for it 🙂
Wow a screw with “lige kærv” (don’t know the English word for it 🤪), a very cool old school ST, I like it. If the other one ever need some love let me know 😃
Ha ha, don’t know how to say it in at glide and even had to Google it in Danish before I knew what it meant. That’s me. And well, yes, I guess the former owner was creative in choosing his replacement screws. … glad to get rid of those and replace all screws with original hex screws. And yeah, a cool old one. Maybe the old flux will turn up as a second hand roller for sale some day this year … complete with the 2 ‘lige kærv’ screws 😊
Love it! one of the last Nitro cars I purcashed was the Firestorm, as far as Nitro goes, that thing was crazy reliable. I should add an electric firestorm to the collection.
Thanks Bee! It sure is crazy fast with that 5700 kv motor! And never broken anything on it - yet - well, although the body cracked several places. Cool you had the Nitro version.
Classic stadium truck! Beautiful video. I love 1/10 2wd stadium trucks. I used to race them successfully long ago in outdoors offroad tracks. I have HPI Firestorm, nitro version, fully restored to its former glory with new body. You should try nitro some day, especially Tamiya (because for sake of Tamiya and for engineering interest). Try Kleinenzagen (DE) for some rare vintage RC models to restore, a very good marketplace and much better prices than eBay.
Nice, Mindau! Yeah, love the 2WD stadium trucks. Especially the Kyosho and Tamiya. I will give the Firestorm a second chance now that I have a better body and tires (well, and a not so worn out everything-else). Thanks for the recommendation. Checked it out. It seems I have to learn German 😅
Hiya Mikael. I hope all is well. Hey the Firestorms are back! You know although I love this RC I was thinking about getting rid of mine just because I'm worried about spares support for it as HPI never re-released it when they got new owners. There are 2 types of spur gear and clutch for these and it looks like you have the one where you can substitute an Arrma or Traxxas spur (can't remember but Barry at his RC Dump can tell you which one). Having said al that I just had a look and found the HPI part in stock so maybe there are a few around. Anyway I look forward to seeing how yours run now that you have sorted it out. So do they both run now or is one a donor car for the other?
Hejsa Pete! Yeah, you convinced me to give it one more try. Ahh, yeah, I have thought about that, the spares. Wonder why it’s not coming back together with all the other ones. There must be a market for it. It was pretty popular. But it’s owned by Danish people now now and we all know they are some slow people 😅 And yeah, should have filmed the empty Flux. Basically just moved all the electronics and a few parts so now the red flux is a roller - or spare parts donar car if HPI never re-releases it again 😃
@@NordicRC glad you gave it another go. If you don't like it then there are plenty of fans out there so I'm sure you could sell it easily enough. Have you been out RC'ing much or is the weather too rubbish?
The weather is rubbish here - but with three small kids now it makes no difference 😅 Hopefully when summer comes, and the family is outdoors all the time anyway, I can be able to do some short runs. I bet the same weather is in England as well? A few sudden sunny days now and then and then rain, rain and clouds 🙃
Yeah, if you want a 2WD Stadium Truck it's still good. But look to see if spare parts are still available before the purchase. If not, better go with something that is still in production.
Yeah, much too tired. Now it’s all good with another unit. And yeah, probably from Castle. These where from the days when HPI where American owned I think.
Awesome RC and great overview, have a great weekend brother
Thank you, Duke! You too, bro!

@@NordicRC just say those screws are special vintage screws and it doubled the price 🤣
😅
Watching with my cat as always ❤️👊🏻👍🏻😩
He he, hope it enjoyed it 😅
Nice trucks. Used to race the hpi blitz. nice to see hpi trying to make a comeback after the traxxas lawsuit.
Hi Martin! Yeah, I hope they make it. It’s a Danish owned company now 😀
I like scratched and dirty rc cars as well as motorbikes. It means they were used fully at its potencial and not only for looks.
Sometimes they can get too dirty and worn out though 😀

I wish they still made this rc
Yeah! Could be cool with an updated version

That slipper clutch look like it was replaced recently.
It does?

Recomends buy this car in 2023? I found one brand new for 100€. I dont know if is a good idea compared with a new ones.

The other one look tired and that hbi ESC look like a sidewinder 3.

So short video... :/
Short is good 😅 Happy Holidays Cosmo
