According to Jimmy, P'Aof (yes, the director for this series) got the inspiration for this series when they went to Rome. He asked Jimmy, "What if I make a series about boys and church?" Then he overstayed his visit in Rome, while Jimmy and Sea were going back to Thailand. If I'm not wrong, P'Aof himself is a Catholic and the setting in 1996 seems to be his time during highschool (he was born in 1980). So it's either based on his own life or someone he knew.
This had me GAGGED like I was staring at it with my jaw on the floor and tears streaming down. I can’t still believe GMM is doing something like this, tackling something as controversial as this. I want to kiss P’Aof’s brain cuz he came up with this story when he had gone to Rome with Jimmysea and had been like “you guys go, I’m gonna stay here a bit”. He has written this story there and the only actors he has thought of was Gemini and Fourth. I don’t think any other could bring the emotions portrayed by both boys here and deliver them with such innocence, such purity and so deeply than these two. Knowing how P’aof is with them (he calls them his golden children) I’m sure this is gonna be talked of in years and years. I’m so so so happy about this 💗
Gmmtv releases just about everything they present at these things. Just not necessarily very soon after. It is other companies that sometimes abandon the pilot trailers they announce.
Yeah, its so rare for gmmtv to not release a show that they had showcased on these events. i can only think of 1 or 2 series that didn't get released at all and it's because they took feedback regarding the source material and ultimately abandoned the project cause it was problematic.
It's another fascinating and original idea from P'Aof and GMMTV. Thai people are actually mostly religious too - but they are predominantly Buddhists which is as different from western Judeo-Christian religion as the moon is from the sun. Buddhism does not have any of the anti GLBT dogmas of western religion. There are some cultural GLBT prejudices, but even those are much less prominent and rapidly disappearing in Thailand (which became the first South Asian nation to legalize same sex marriage this year).
You're right, but while a minority religion, Catholicism is not as rare as to be **totally** unrelatable in Thailand. P'Aof is himself catholic as well as queer, and Fourth grew up attending an all boys' catholic school. Moreover, while others doesn't villainise queer r/ships quite as much as the Abrahamic faiths, sociocultural reasons have led to practically every religion being weaponized against the queer community, so i'm sure this will strike a chord across the board
For your information, every pilot trailer has to release they're present to client already but sometime late not in the same year. All of this have only ones that cancled and it's not Bl.
I truly enjoyed this film! I can wholeheartedly also recommend “The Falls” film Trilogy. Jon Garcia’s The Falls trilogy (The Falls, The Falls: Testament of Love, and The Falls: Covenant of Grace), about two Mormon missionaries who fall in love. (2012) Beginning with The Falls we follow the lives of two American teens struggling to make sense of the conflict between their worlds, their desires, and each other. (2013)The story continues in The Falls: Testament Of Love, which picks up five years after we leave RJ and Chris. Though their lives have taken radically different paths, the death of a mutual friend unexpectedly reunites the two men at a time when both are attempting to establish their adult lives. (2016) The Falls: Covenant Of Grace brings what Edge Media calls a sweet satisfying conclusion to an epic, and spiritually troubled, same-sex relationship. The trilogy was directed by Jon Garcia and stars: Nick Ferrucci, Benjamin Farmer, and Brian J. Saville Allard.
1:48 I think the better marker here is “BL and Christianity” because Buddhism features prominently in these series. There aren’t many Catholics in Thailand so the blowback probably won’t be too bad… 😢
I don’t think it’s gonna release in 2025. Fourth will be busy shooting for Scarlet Hearth most of next year. We won’t see Ticket to Heaven probably like the end of 2026 maybe for a Christmas release.
@@SS-cl2nn This director's recent track record for release dates: Tale of 1000 Stars: January 2021 (announced in Fall 2019) Bad Buddy: late October 2021 (announced in Fall 2020) Moonlight Chicken: February 2023 (announced in Fall 2021) Last Twilight: December 2023 (announced in Fall 2022) While we cannot count on past being prolog in this case, it does seem as if Aof prefers to shoot his series in summer, with broadcast periods later in the year or early in the next. But your timetable ("end of 2026") doesnt work. Two more of these "upcoming series" events would come and go. Gmmtv doesn't delay series two full years. Christmas 2025 is possible or early 2026. Almost all of the 17 series announced this week should have aired by that time.
@alexxpanda6412 I won't be surprised so far ( from what I saw) love in the air - abusive, hi-price male 🍑🕳, this movie - homophobe using God name, pick & chosing Gods words to follow. Based on trailer.
Im not even their fan to begin with but this premise is really sold for me! Im intrigued with this plot and really have a high hope from P Aof 🥹 also, the last dialogue had me tearing up so badly idk why… maybe because im muslim and i always hope everyone will go to heaven together if they ever did a good deeds in this world 🥲

@@kikilala9371 and _that_ is a different issue altogether than failing to raise the funds to make a series.
Gemini said this is coming out 2026

I wouldn't worry about this one not being released because this is a P'Aof project. It will definitely get done.
También estoy demasiado intrigada, me encantaria verla en 2025
By the way, the title in Thai is actually "The boy didn't go to heaven" 😭
Can't wait to see geminifourth ❤❤❤❤

The 2003 film Latter Days. Bonus: set in LA.
I truly enjoyed this film!

if i'm not wrong, there's 1 series made which has something to do with religion as well. i think it's called Sakristan.
