Breaking out of the practice mode and now hopefully staying in the "rehearsal" mode to get ready for the big contest coming up In London. Putting myself on the spot with the recorder, helps me to prepare and motivates me, even more, to play well.
As we get closer to the event, I"ll have some more videos to put up from different days down in the clubhouse and also while I"m overseas. When I get in rehearsal mode, it's easy to lose sight of the overall picture so I try to remember that this playing is all about the listener, not necessarily me, the player.
Yes, you want the accuracy, but you need to "play the rhythm" which is my own little code phrase that I use to remind myself before I go onto a platform.
