    In this third episode of My Ultimate 4x4 I upgrade the handlebars and controls on my 2020 Yamaha Grizzly with a set of Low Bend Flexx Handlebars, a 5" riser kit from Rox Speed FX and install Yamaha's Adventure Pro GPS unit to the lid of my glove compartment. Then it's off to the Hatfield McCoy Trail System for the first of many miles of ride-testing the much-improved upgrade. How bad are the stock Grizzly handlebars?? They're garbage, and when compared to this ultimate set-up!
    This is part 3 of my new “Ultimate 4x4” video series. From cross country racing, GNCC competition, work-duties in the yard, trail-riding with buddies to a 4000 mile coast-to-coast trip on the Trans American Trail - I'm doing it all with my 2020 Yamaha Grizzly!

    You should make TH-cam shorts in-between your long video series and/or upload more often. The shorts won't get you many watch hours but if they are relatively theatric and well made then they can go viral kinda easy (especially if you put widely searched phrases in your video description) anyway great video and editing. Did you have any issue with the rear master cylinder and the flex bushing, the foot brake cable is in the way to mount it normally, I see yours is turned down at a good angle. Just wonder if there is a better solution. Also rubs the hand guard mounts.

    • @ATVScene
      @ATVScene  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the cable assembly is right in the way. I tried a few things, and had it all working somewhat ok, but besides this problem I just didn't have any confidence in good braking out of the foot pedal.. I ended up just disconnecting the foot brake altogether. Yamaha went cheap here. The foot brake should have had its own reservoir.

    I copied you a bit but my budget isn’t as big lol. I have same bars and hand guards but all black, even my hand guard rail is powder coated black with silver hardware.
    I went with ITP hurricane wheels, 25x10-12 swamp witch radials on all 4 corners. I would have LOVED to copy you on wheels and tires but I couldn’t justify it. I don’t race, just trail ride.
    I’d be super curious how much different mine would handle being 10-12 on all corners instead of skinner wheels and tires like you did. Maybe I made a mistake idk.
    I trail ride, in the mud, nothing much above the tires, and I hill climb. I figured the extra width and surface area would be best for climbing hills, not to mention more ballast down low with heavier rubber.

    • @ATVScene
      @ATVScene  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should have probably spent more time on this. It's a great question.
      I sort of go by what I have felt most comfortable on over the years. The stock Suzuki LTR 450 comes to mind. I know I love that bend and height, (it's the 15 degree CR low bend).
      Fasst Co put a lot of time and effort into this page:
      www.fasstco.com/pages/flexx-atv-handlebar-bends Go there to look up the different stock OEM bends to get a baseline of what you know you already like. I'm 5'-10” and have always like the CR low bend.
      For our Grizzly/ Kodiak you have to get the low bend, so that part is done for you. The finish product on what I did in this video is perfect for me, and probably most will go with my same selection (the CR bend is very popular).
      You will love this upgrade. It's without a doubt one of the best mods you can make to your Grizzly / Kodiak... SO much better than the wimpy lackluster stock bar set up.
